2. SummerSlam

Date: Aug. 23, 2015

Venue: Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York

Literally and figuratively the second biggest show of the year, SummerSlam emanated from its home for the foreseeable future: Brooklyn.

The show was a bit shaky at the onset with a mediocre match between Sheamus and Randy Orton followed by another between Dolph Ziggler and Rusev. But the good eventually outweighed the bad in this WWE pay-per-view.

The New Day regained the WWE Tag Team Championships by defeating the Prime Time Players, the Lucha Dragons and Los Matadores in a Fatal 4-Way match that brilliantly showcased all the teams strengths.

Ambrose and Reigns had another great match against the Wyatts with chaos inside the ring and all around it, and Stephen Amell surprised the WWE Universe with some impressive wrestling moves for an actor.

Kevin Owens and Cesaro put on a wrestling clinic even though there were no titles on the line whatsoever; however, their match was overshadowed by a masterpiece between Seth Rollins and John Cena (excluding the Jon Stewart finish).

Finally, the main event was a grudge match between the Undertaker and Brock Lesnar. The two behemoths took one another to the limit, and their slugfest built up to a questionable, yet memorable ending.

Even though SummerSlam lived up to the massive hype, it was still out-shined by one other WWE pay-per-view in 2015…
