Four solid matches rounded out the Battleground card, although one of those matches blew the world away with its surprise factor.

First off, the show was an early scene in the feud between Bray Wyatt and Roman Reigns. After a grueling match, Bray Wyatt picked up the victory thanks to interference by a hooded Luke Harper—an act that signaled the rebirth of the Wyatt Family.

Next in line was the first WWE pay-per-view match for new Superstars Charlotte and Sasha Banks as they faced Brie Bella in a Triple Threat match. This was the coronation of the fledgling “Diva’s Revolution,” and it set the bar for women’s wrestling in the WWE for the rest of the year.

Third in the hopper was the rubber match between John Cena and Kevin Owens, who had put on two match-of-the-year candidates already. Even though it didn’t have the shock of their first match, it was the best all-around bout in their series.

The main event saw Brock Lesnar finally get his rematch against Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. The match itself was nothing special and typical of a Lesnar-induced slaughter (Rollins took 13 suplexes in all). That being said, though, after Lesnar hit the F-5, the lights went out and that familiar Undertaker bell tolled.

Lesnar was in disbelief, and the crowd went crazy. The Deadman’s return was awe-inspiring and epic.
