A review of the August 3rd episode of the Cruiserweight Classic complete with analysis and grades.

The final four matches of the opening round of the WWE Cruiserweight Classic take place tonight at Full Sail University.  The tournament so far has been a good one, complete with a bevy of entertaining, highlight reel type matches and from the lineup scheduled the for the first round finale, this trend should continue.  The first two installments  of the WCC were exactly what many expected, spectacular.  However, episode 3 sputtered just a tiny bit so it’ll be episode 4’s responsibility to bring the electricity back.

On tap for tonight will be England’s Jack Gallagher taking on Fabian Aichner from Italy, Scotsman Noam Dar will battle India’s Gurv Sihra, American Rich Swann will battle Hong Kong representative, and two American’s will step in the ring together as fellow NXT stars and tag team partners, Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano square off.

There’s a lot to like about tonight’s card.  Another NXT star and tournament favorite, Swann, will be showcased tonight as well as the ever-exciting youngster Noam Dar.  But the real story tonight is Gargano and Ciampa.  Tag team partners in NXT, the two are less than 3 weeks away from challenging The Revival for tag team gold at TakeOver: Brooklyn II.  Will what transpired in the ring on tonight’s show have any effect on their team?  Will there be any fall-out or jealousy?  Only one way to find out.

The show kicked off 9:00 PM ET with Daniel Bryan and Mauro Ranallo as your hosts.
