5 Reasons WWE SummerSlam Will Be Better Than WrestleMania 32

4. There Will (Hopefully) Be a Proper Women’s Match
The triple threat for the Women’s championship at WrestleMania was a fantastic match. It showcased the three women who had taken the division by storm since coming up from NXT last summer, and they were fighting over the newly implemented Women’s championship rather than the Diva’s championship. It felt like the match that truly kicked off a new era for women’s wrestling. That is, except for the ending.
Sure, Charlotte was playing the super-heel so she cheated to win. That’s understandable even though people probably would’ve preferred a clean ending. The bigger problem is the way she cheated. Ric Flair holding Sasha Banks back so she couldn’t break Charlotte’s submission was a pretty lame ending for a match of this magnitude. Having a man directly influence the outcome of a match that was supposed to be the coronation for a new era of Women’s wrestling just felt wrong. But at SummerSlam, things should be different.
Even though it’s only one on one this time around, it’s looking like Sasha vs Charlotte for the Women’s title will be a somewhat proper match. With Ric Flair long gone and Dana Brooke banned from ringside, this is shaping up to be a match that rightfully represents what the Women’s division has become. Although we can’t guarantee there won’t be any shenanigans, it hopefully won’t be as blatant as Flair’s interference last time around.
