Roman Reigns Opens Raw
Reigns talks about losing the U.S. Championship to Chris Jericho, but says he is looking toward Kevin Owens and wants his Universal Championship. Paul Heyman then enters the venue and says Brock Lesnar is here. After “Goldberg” chants, Heyman says Goldberg is not here.
Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho enter the arena. Owens talks how the two of them are champions and Jericho follows up. Y2J then says he will win the Royal Rumble to face Owens at WrestleMania. Owens subtly disagrees, talks about his title reign, and says he will be the champion no matter who he faces.
Seth Rollins comes out next and says he will win the Royal Rumble. Braun Strowman is out afterward and stares down Reigns. Lesnar makes his way to ringside, and Sami Zayn comes out of nowhere to attack Strowman. The Beast then enters the ring and takes down everyone.
This segment put over how much carnage there could be in the Royal Rumble match, which has a field that’s becoming the most stacked one in recent years. Lesnar, Rollins, Goldberg, Zayn, Undertaker, the Miz, Dean Ambrose, and potentially title match losers at the pay-per-view may make this special.
