Now that Big Cass looks to be heading off on his own, who might be his potential future foes?
For the past month, the duo of Enzo Amore and Big Cass seemed to be under attack from a mystery person or persons. There were several theories thrown out there about the identity of the attacker. Enzo believed it to be The Revival, while Big Cass was pointing his finger at The Big Show. But there was another theory floating out there, mostly by the fans, that Big Cass himself was somehow involved. That theory was proven to be correct on the June 18th episode of RAW as Corey Graves unveiled surveillance footage that proved that “The Big Bambino” had orchestrated the entire ordeal. Cass didn’t deny it very long as he went into a vicious diatribe on the man who is now his former partner, cementing that notion with his right boot to Enzo’s mouth to close out the show.
Quite honestly, this was a long time coming. No offense Enzo. He’s a talented guy and one of the best talkers in the company, but his wrestling skill leaves a lot to be desired. He honestly might be better served as a personality as opposed to an in-ring superstar. Cass, on the other hand, has it all. Size, wrestling ability, mic-work, and the superstar look. Now on his own, he has a massive future ahead of him. But first, he’ll have to close this thing out with Enzo which shouldn’t take long. Maybe a match at Great Balls of Fire that sees Cass victorious may be all this feud needs to end. From there, for Cass, the skies the limit.
Here are three potential future feuds for Big Cass, post-Enzo Amore.

3. The Big Show
Now I rarely advocate for anybody to feud with The Big Show. Look, the guy is a legend so take nothing away from him. But at this point in his career, he doesn’t bring a ton to the table as far as in-ring storytelling goes. And to be even more honest, his act has grown very stale. However, in this case, a feud between Cass and Show just makes sense. After all, it was Cass that accused “The World’s Largest Athlete” Monday night of perpetrating the attacks on both he and Enzo. This led to a fiery retort from Big Show which led to him questioning whether he should even be on RAW. So yes, he’s angry, and insulted.
Those facts alone are an easy way to begin a feud. Also take into account the violent boot that Cass planted on Enzo’s mug and the fact that Show has taken a liking to “The Certified G”. If Cass continues any more violence on his now former partner, a guy that just so happens to be about a foot shorter and 70 pounds lighter, it might leave Show with no choice but intervene to even up the sizes.
Also remember the recent mini-feud between Show and Braun Strowman. The Big Show, with his new physique actually seems to be as agile as he’s ever been and he an Strowman put on a couple of solid matches that really helped “The Monster Among Men” get to where he currently is on the roster. Could a similar scenario do the same for Big Cass? At 45 years old, Show’s career clock is ticking close to the end and it seems like he’s in a position to give back to the business by putting young talent over. It might not be the flashiest feud of all time, but it just may be a perfect way set Cass on his way to a major future push.

2. Dean Ambrose
If Cass does in fact take on The Big Show out of the gates, and after all, it makes sense, Ambrose may be a perfect logical follow-up feud. Currently trying to reclaim his Intercontinental title from The Miz, “The Lunatic Fringe” will be tied up for awhile. That will give time for Cass to close the book on the Enzo feud, take down The Big Show, and then look forward to bigger and better things. Engaging in a feud with a former world champion and top-level babyface would be a ringing endorsement for the new heel and would really give Cass the chance to show if he can excel in that role.
On top of all that, this would be a brand new feud, something that can always be exciting. Outside of working a couple of six-man tag dark matches together last summer, Cass and Ambrose have virtually no history with each other. And yes, sometimes digging up old skeletons can be an engrossing way to add fire to a feud, but it’s always refreshing to see what two guys can do with a fresh slate.
An interesting piece to this could be if Ambrose is successful in recapturing his Intercontinental title. A program between the two over a secondary title would be a massive step in the right direction for Cass. And another thought: what if Cass is just added to the Ambrose/Miz rivalry? It’s clearly one of the better, if not the best rivalries going right now on RAW, and potentially adding Cass into it would be a huge deal for the 30-year-old Queens, New York native. Imagine a Miz/Ambrose/Cass triple threat match for the IC title at Summerslam? I could get behind that.

1. Seth Rollins
Ok, so maybe I’m getting way ahead of myself here. In Rollins, we’re talking about a 2-time WWE world champion and a main event caliber star for the past 3 years. So for Cass to be able to feud with a guy like “The Architect”, he’ll need to go on a serious run and knock off some big names before stepping into the ring with a guy of Rollin’s pedigree. But if Cass is the potential superstar that many in the WWE think he could be, then there is a very good chance that these two may meet up in the future.
So what I’ve realized since I started typing this article is that this isn’t just 3 potential opponents for Cass, but it’s almost evolved into a blueprint for his future. He can begin his singles run by closing the story with Enzo, get an impressive win over another giant in The Big Show, feud over a secondary title, and then move into more of a prominent, main event type program. Waiting for him at nearly the top of the mountain could be Rollins. Seems logical, right?

The WWE has been teasing a big run from Cass for a long time. Heck, he made it into the fatal 4-way match for the vacant Universal title last August and had a pretty solid showing, even coming close to the victory several times. Coincidentally that was the same match in which Rollins was cheated out of the belt by Triple H and his Pedigree. If Cass was near that level a year ago, it it that far of a cry to see him back there sooner rather than later? One thing is for certain, is that a Cass/Rollins feud could one day provide fireworks and be the litmus test that Cass needs to pass to be the next star.
