With Summer just beginning we look at superstars on both WWE RAW and Smackdown Live who could break out in July and August.
The Summer has finally arrived and for the WWE this sometimes is good news and other times it is bad news. In years past WWE seems to struggle during big chunks of the Summer in particular late June and July.
With the weather being beautiful and people being off from school and work, people are out enjoying the weather and having fun. This means on Mondays and Tuesdays a lot of fans are not watching WWE.
Fans generally don’t start coming back to the product until August when the build up to Summerslam begins. With this happening a lot often, current top stars either take time off or do not appear regularly.
This means that opportunities on both RAW and Smackdown Live could open up for superstars who haven’t received a big break yet. With both John Cena and Brock Lesnar not appearing on WWE consistently throughout the summer, along with the possibility of other top stars taking a break this summer could help create new stars going forward.
The Summer is generally the best time to try new things because of the low ratings. If it works then WWE will continue pushing the star, however, if it fails it’s not too big of a deal as the ratings are already at a low point.
With the summer being a huge time to develop new stars we look at four superstars who could have breakout summers.

4. Breezango (Tyler Breeze and Fandango)
Who would’ve thought three months ago that Breezango had a chance to be major players in the Tag Division on Smackdown Live? The two spent all of last year jobbing to other tag teams on the blue brand and the feeling was that the two would do relatively nothing.
However, when the two were given an opportunity they took it and ran with it. The two began to gain a following when the two were both praised for being key parts of the Southpaw Regional Wrestling show on the Internet.
Soon after the show came out the two became number one contenders for the Smackdown Tag Team Championships. The two then began showing vignettes backstage as The Fashion Police. The vignettes have parodied cop shows such as Law and Order and Miami Vice.
The comedy that the two have shown in the vignettes have gained them a fan base and the duo are quickly becoming one of the more popular tag teams. Despite coming up short to The Uso’s at Backlash the duo have continued some strong momentum continuing to win on Smackdown Live.
The duo defeated The Ascension at Money in the Bank and seemed poised to once again get a shot at the WWE Tag Titles. Breezango have shown they have great chemistry and are truly one of the only teams on the whole roster who have personality.
Heading now into the Summer, WWE could use this time to continue building up Breezango on The Blue Brand. The two could possibly get another title shot at Summerslam which would be a huge push in the right direction for the pair.
Breezango are hilarious and are quickly becoming must see on Tuesday Nights, the Summer is the perfect time to continue on developing them.
3. Elias Samson
When The Drifter known as Elias Samson started to show up on RAW in random places and times, fans began to worry if he would be able to survive on Monday Night. Despite having a following down in NXT, Samson was never one of the top guys down in NXT.
After it was announced he was coming to the main roster fans were hoping he would end up on Smackdown Live where he could continue to develop. However, The Drifter ended up heading over to Monday Night RAW.
Samson would drift around the backstage area for multiple weeks until Kurt Angle booked him in a match against Dean Ambrose. Samson would win the match and would then proceed to perform on the following RAW’s and at Extreme Rules.
His one-man concerts have caused crowds to get hostile at Samson who has done an excellent in getting responses from the crowd. Samson now seems to poised to start the Summer in a feud with Finn Balor.
In just a short period of time, Elias Samson has become one of the best overall heels in WWE as he gets legit heat with the crowds. Samson for a big man is also solid in the ring and is showing he can handle himself in the ring.
Samson has already been placed in a big feud with one of RAW‘s most popular talents in Finn Balor. WWE should use the Summer to continue pushing Samson to the point that by the time we hit the fall he can be in feuds with other big names like Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose.
The Drifter has quickly shown that he could be a top guy on the flagship show, now its time to develop him.

2. Carmella
Its been a whirlwind of a week for The Princess of Staten Island, Carmella. After pulling off the biggest win of her career at Money in the Bank, Carmella was stripped of the briefcase by Daniel Bryan.
The decision was made when Bryan decided it was not fair how Carmella won the briefcase by having James Ellsworth climb up the ladder and get the briefcase for her. Carmella will have a chance on Smackdown Live to win back the briefcase but she will be without Ellsworth who is banned from ringside.
Despite being all alone, the smart money still seems for Carmella to win the briefcase and be once again Miss Money in the Bank. Carmella has seen in the last few weeks that she can speak on the microphone as she cut a really strong promo on Smackdown Live.
Since coming up to the main roster last year during the draft Carmella has continued to improve in all aspects. Her ring work has improved being able to work with females like Becky Lynch, Nikki Bella and Natalya.
She is also becoming one of the best females on the microphone as she continues to get better and better on the microphone. Giving her back the briefcase this week would allow the WWE to continue to build her during the summer.
The briefcase would allow WWE to continue working on making Carmella as complete as she can be and would give her great storyline piece as no one will know she will cash in the briefcase. When she finally cashes in she’ll be ready and WWE could give her reign as Women’s Champion.
Carmella needs to win back her briefcase this Tuesday so WWE can continue to build her this Summer as the next big star on Smackdown Live.

1. Big Cass
In what can be considered one of the more shocking moments this year, Big Cass finally seemed to have enough of his longtime partner Enzo Amore. After weeks of sneak attacks on both Enzo Amore and Big Cass, the attacker was finally revealed on RAW.
After footage from Corey Graves was shown to the fans it was finally discovered that Cass was the one attacking Enzo. For the first time since being on the main roster, Cass was finally to express himself shedding himself from his once catchphrase.
Cass announced his frustrations over his former partner believing that Enzo was keeping him down and preventing him from reaching his potential. In a way the big man was right as Enzo and Cass despite being popular were not winning too much.
The duo never ended up winning Tag Titles either on the main roster or when they were down in NXT despite receiving multiple attempts. The duo in the last few months were losing matches like crazy due in part to Enzo.
Sick of the losing Cass big booted his former friend last week on RAW and now seems poised to start his solo career. The two will probably have a match at Great Balls of Fire in a few weeks but after that Cass should be free to start his solo career.
From what we saw on RAW when given the chance Cass can talk and cut a decent promo when he’s given a chance. With him now with Enzo he should be given more chances to continue building his microphone skills.
With us now in Summer WWE could use these next few months to continue to build and develop Cass to be a main event player down the line. In a couple of months, Cass could enter a feud with a marquee name like Ambrose or Rollins.
