A look at 3 ways WWE Creative can make use of Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins, now that they are on the same page once again.

Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins are together once again. Let that sink in for a moment. The lunatic fringe has finally forgiven the Architect, who built and destroyed the Shield. The duo would have a tense encounter that would lead to a brawl in the opening segment of Monday night WWE Raw. However, things would soon get messy and the Raw tag champion Sheamus and Cesaro would try to take advantage of the scenario.

The resulting brawl saw Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins put their differences aside and join hands in fighting their opposition. As we have seen multiple times in the past, when these two are on the same page, they are literally unstoppable. As was the case this Monday also. Moreover, they would be challenging the tag champions at SummerSlam this Sunday. Fans of the Shield couldn’t be happier.

However, one would have to think where does this all lead to? Sportskeeda reported rumors of Sheamus taking a hiatus for a WWE studios movie role following SummerSlam. If that be the case, one could be assured of Ambrose and Rollins winning the title this Sunday. But where does this go from here? In this post, we will discuss three ways creative could utilize this duo and milk out every bit of excitement they can bring to the WWE.

3. Rule Atop the Tag Division

This is obviously the most predictable and imminent booking decision on our hands. The tag titles could most likely change hands this Sunday. If that happens, then Ambrose and Rollins are the new kings of the tag division. As we have seen numerous time in the past, these two work like a well-oiled machine. The suicide dive spots they pull off in series is always a treat to the eye. I would be very happy to see that again.

During the days of the Shield, Rollins and Reigns were a dominating tag team that held the titles. Now, it’s time for Ambrose and Rollins to do the same. Moreover, this would give both of them something to do since the Universal title picture is too crowded at the moment. Seeing that the likes of Finn Balor are waiting for a shot at the title, Ambrose and Rollins could be in the tag division for a few months, to say the least.

Ideally, that should be what creative must do. Fans have waited many years for this moment. Moreover, with the recent flurry of tag team splitting up all over the WWE, this duo needs to stick around for a good while. However, the only downside to this idea would be its longevity. The excitement from their reunion could last for only so long. Creative would have to come up with intriguing storylines to keep their popularity up. That is when we head to the next item on this list.

2. Unite the Three

Unite the Seven is a tag line that has been used by the upcoming Justice League movie in case one is wondering. Much like Batman in the movie, Rollins could be on a mission to unite the three – the three members of the Shield. Rollins has already mend ways with Dean Ambrose. Roman Reigns is next. Not only would this lead to a full-blown reunion of the trio but could pave the way for some intriguing moments.

The reunion could come by the time of this year’s WrestleMania. However, for this to happen, Roman Reigns needs to be out of the Universal title picture. For that to happen, something more important than the title needs to be his target. This is where creative would need to pull out all the stops. An idea that comes to my mind right now would be something that involves Triple H and his Authority goons. However, creative has to be careful to not botch it up like his alliances with KO or Samoa Joe which lead to nothing.

It could be revealed that Triple H or the Authority is hellbent on destroying all three members of the Shield for whatever reasons. Rollins, being the architect has already found out about it months ahead and has been devising a plan to bring back the trio for their own sake. Such a storyline that can be tracked to months, would be a fresh sight in the WWE. Since Rollins has already successfully mend ways with Ambrose, doing the same with Roman won’t be a problem.

But, for this idea to work out, there needs to be a worthy opposition. Something, at least in the level of Evolution, with younger and more dangerous members. Let’s be honest, a veteran wrestler like Batista who was gasping for air between matches never felt like a credible threat to the Shield. Perhaps, Triple H could work his magic once more and recruit some guys. He could have both Owens and Samoa Joe. He could perhaps recruit Strowman or even Baron Corbin from SmackDown. Perhaps, it could be someone from NXT or a new signing.

Not only would that make for some great action, it would also give three more superstars, an opportunity to perform under the limelight. The match itself could happen at WrestleMania perhaps. Like I said before, for this to make sense, something important must be on the line; like the future of the Shield or their careers, for example.

1. Rollins Suffers Heartbreak

Like they say, all good things must come to and end. Likewise, the Shield reunion must too. Regardless of whether Roman Reigns joins the party or not, this alliance between Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins could only last so long. One of them has to destroy the other from the inside itself. However, unlike last time, Seth Rollins should be the victim this time around. That would ideally mean, Ambrose would turn on his partner for whatever reasons. Extra points if creative could find ways to include Roman Reigns in there as well.

One way to pull this off would be for Ambrose to get jealous of all the attention Rollins has been getting. If Reigns is in the mix, then this could be pulled off easily. The Lunatic Fringe gets tired of all the attention the other two gets while he puts his body and heart on the line for the team. Eventually, his unpredictable nature gets the best of him and Dean would take it too far. To add some spice to it, he could perhaps convince Reigns to join him, by reminding him how Rollins betrayed him all those years ago.

Another way would be to have Triple H or Stephanie McMahon get to Ambrose and lure him into betraying his brother(s). This could perhaps be by way of a title shot or a title win itself. Whatever be the case, a move like that would ensure Rollins is firmly established as a babyface. In addition, that would enable Ambrose to thrive as a heel with major heat on him.

From there, creative could work a number of angles. Seeing as all reunions must eventually come to an end, this idea seems like a clear certainty somewhere in the future. If that ever happens, they should come by way of Dean Ambrose. What are your thoughts on this? What would be your dream scenarios for the Shield? Who would you want to see them take on?
