RAW Women’s Championship: Alexa Bliss (c) vs Sasha Banks
I’ve been trying to stay mostly positive here but sometimes some things need to be said. And sorry, but the Bliss-Banks pairing for SummerSlam is an indictment of just how poorly booked the RAW women’s division is right now. This feud, on paper, should be awesome. But bad booking last month proved to be the duos downfall as their Great Balls of Fire match had absolutely zero heat around it. However, Banks did walk out of that show victorious via count out which would make most people think she deserved a rematch. However, the WWE elected to go with the girl who was once the hottest young female star in the company but in just less than a year has had her rise stunted due to, once again, bad booking, challenging for the title instead
With Bayley on her way to SummerSlam, the build began only to end suddenly with an injury. Now Banks, the person who should’ve been in the match in the first place, is back in, and there’s been less than a week to build any heat. Wow. Just wow. Well, either way, I think the girls will produce a better match than at GBOF and be one of the better matches of the night because that’s how good they both are. But unfortunately for Banks, I don’t see another title reign until she turns heel once again. Bliss survives.
Winner and still champion: Alexa Bliss
