Sami Zayn shocked the world when he helped Kevin Owens survive WWE Hell in a Cell. But are they really on the same page?
One of my favorite pastimes as a WWE fan is to try and guess what’s going to happen in the future. I don’t go out of my way to spoil myself. But trying to get into the heads of the creative department is a good way to kill some time.
A lot of this week’s focus will be on SmackDown Live and the fallout from Hell in a Cell this past Sunday. But there’s plenty of things going on over on Raw, as well. Let’s get right into some of our predictions for the week.
Zayn and Owens: A One-Time Thing
Spoilers ahead for the handful of people who are reading this and haven’t watched Hell in a Cell yet…
In the HIAC main event, Kevin Owens managed to defeat Shane McMahon. It was a brutal encounter, with the action not only confined to inside the cell, but around the ring as well. Oh, and on top of the cell.
Owens was in danger of getting caught by a Shane O Mac flying elbow from off the top of the cell. But KO’s former best friend Sami Zayn made a shocking appearance to pull Owens out of harm’s way.
Is this a Sami Zayn heel turn? Are he and Owens best friends again? Nah. Or, at least, not yet. I think this was a one time thing for the time being, and come Tuesday the two will be at each other’s throats again. That’s not to say they won’t reunite in the future, but as of this week, nothing is permanent just yet.
We Want ‘2B’ Your Friends
Also at Hell in a Cell, the Fashion Police returned with a new installment of Fashion Files. They were celebrating closing the 2B case – or so they thought. After yet another encounter with The Ascension, someone mysteriously delivered a briefcase to Breeze and Fandango’s office. Inside? Well, we don’t really know, other than the fact that it glows.

The briefcase bore a striking similarity to the one from Pulp Fiction that encased Marcellus Wallace’s soul. All we know about it right now? The Fashion Police have a new case – Pulp Fashion.
A new setting to spoof is great for Breeze and Dango. Depending on how long WWE decides to stick with this theme, there’s a very good chance that we’ll hear about a Royale with cheese on Tuesday night. I’m also fully expecting to see Tyler Breeze doing the Uma Thurman dance, because it basically writes itself.
The bigger question is who’s actually behind all of this? Smart money would be on Luke Harper and Erick Rowan. They’ve been MIA for quite a while now (you know what that means). But I think WWE is still planning on this whole Fashion Files thing being a vehicle for Breeze, Fandango, and The Ascension. Breeze is already going all meta with everything – “I swear if it turns out to be The Ascension after all this time….”
Sister Abigail Is A Huge Disappointment
It’s not exactly a stretch – or a bold prediction – to say The Shield will finally reunite this Monday on Raw. I mean, they’ve been foreshadowing hard since No Mercy. Roman Reigns has gotten beaten up by two different sets of three competitors over the past two weeks. Two of the wrestlers involved in the attacks on Reigns have included guys feuding with the remainder of The shield. Plus, TLC is two weeks away – it’s gotta happen now, unless they’re waiting for Survivor Series for some reason.
So what can we predict about three hours of Raw? Braun Strowman annihilates the competition? Enzo Amore annoys everyone, but people are watching 205 Live so we have to be quiet? Nah, we have to go with Bray Wyatt.
Last week, Bray told Finn Balor that Sister Abigail was coming. There’s a lot of speculation about who may be playing Sister Abigail, since she’s going to be a somewhat main character. The leading candidate, believe it or not? Bray Wyatt himself.
Yes, Wyatt will be using Sister Abigail much like Finn Balor uses the Demon as an alter ego. Bold prediction: This is going to be awful. Alter egos are fine, but WWE isn’t the kind of company you’d expect to tastefully handle such a scenario. I’m picturing Wyatt in that Joker-like makeup, like what he wore last week. And it will be a garbage segment.
