WWE SmackDown 5 Biggest Stars: The Rise of Sami Zayn

2. Kevin Owens
Kevin Owens might be the biggest star on SmackDown. His new friendship with Sami Zayn has the potential to surpass his partnership with Chris Jericho. I never thought those words would be written. But he’s that good.
Owens was on top form Tuesday night, which has been the case since his feud with Shane McMahon began prior to SummerSlam. His promo with Sami Zayn to kickoff the show was even better than last week’s, and it’s easy to see the potential they have as allies.
These two have been at war ever since Owens arrived on NXT and ruined Zayn’s celebration moments after finally capturing the NXT Championship. Every story and match they could have against each other has been exhausted. But as “best friends”? Now that’s a different story. It’s still surreal to see these two working together, but it’s amazing.
Time will tell whether Owens is truly working with Zayn or simply using him to help his battle with Shane McMahon. History suggests it’s not a good idea to be friends with Owens. Zayn should know that better than anyone.
Kevin Owens is on fire, and he remains one of the reasons to tune into SmackDown on Tuesday nights.
