NJPW The New Beginning in Sapporo Day 1 Preview

CHAOS (Will Ospreay & YOSHI-HASHI) vs. Los Ingobernables de Japon (Hiromu Takahashi & Tetsuya Naito)

After both men in LIJ lost at Wrestle Kingdom, don’t be surprised if YOSHI-HASHI eats the pin in this one. Naito needs to start his trek back to the top, and what better way than defeating YOSHI-HASHI here? This will also give Hiromu a much needed win over Ospreay to justify their eventually 1-on-1 rematch for the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Title, which Ospreay currently holds. This will be one to watch. Will Chris Jericho be somehow involved? That’s an interesting question heading into this show.

CHAOS (Gedo, Hirooki Goto, & Kazuchika Okada) vs. Los Ingobernables de Japon (BUSHI, EVIL, & SANADA)

This match will be setting up the final New Beginning show in where Okada will defend his title against SANADA in what will be a major test to see if SANADA is ready for the main event of New Japan shows. Okada is having the most legendary run as IWGP Heavyweight Champion seen in the last 20 years, where New Japan is attempting to establish him as the new Antonio Inoki – a living legend in the eyes of the public. A big win over SANADA will help further that. However, in this tag match, I expect to see Gedo take the fall from any one of the members of LIJ.
