WWE SmackDown Live Results And Grades For July 24, 2018
Truth And Dillinger
Last week, Samoa Joe defeated Tye Dillinger by putting him to sleep with the Coquina Clutch, which was no surprise at all. This week, he’ll look to do the same to R-Truth, who has become Dillinger’s “BFF” on SmackDown Live since joining the Blue Brand.
Truth has the unenviable task of facing Joe in his first match back (what were you thinking Paige????), but Dillinger has some kind words of encouragement for him backstage. Let’s see if that’s enough to help Truth lessen the pain, because he sure as hell isn’t winning this.
Rusev Day Argument
Lana and Aiden English get into an argument backstage over what just happened, and Rusev has enough of their bickering. He yells “Enough!” at the top of his lungs, stating that maybe neither of them are good enough for Rusev Day because of this nonsense.
R-Truth vs. Samoa Joe
Man oh man, I just realized how much I missed R-Truth rapping to the crowd on his entrance, and he also dropped a Snoop Dogg reference in there.
Truth started the match hot, and, wow, he still has it! No signs of rust at all! But while it initially looked like Truth had a shot, Joe told him to “Sit Down!” in the corner and then locked in the Coquina Clutch shortly afterwards. Easy win for Joe, who likely has his eyes set on AJ Styles’s WWE Championship.
