Asuka vs. Billie Kay

Before her match against Billie Kay, Asuka is asked about her thoughts on Evolution, which is the first all-women’s PPV in WWE and will take place on Oct. 28 as a WWE Network-exclusive event. Asuka is obviously pumped, but she adds that Kay isn’t ready for Asuka tonight. Kay and life partner Peyton Royce, believing they are better than Asuka, essentially called her out last night during Raw, so that’s what led to tonight’s match.

Asuka immediately grabs Kay’s arm, and she starts panicking at the thought of being locked in a submission. But it’s a ruse, as Kay counters out of it and starts getting the upper hand on Asuka, screaming insults at the Empress in her shrill, annoying voice. Which, of course, I get a kick out of.

To avoid an Ankle Lock, Kay grabs Royce on the outside. But Kay’s survival in this match is short-lived, as Asuka kicks the living daylights out of her for the win. As Byron Saxton warned the IIconics (and Corey Graves didn’t exactly dispute this either), you should never goad Asuka. She’ll make you pay.

Grade: C, Good to see Asuka get her mojo back, and I thought Kay looked pretty good here in a short match. I always find the IIconics entertaining.
