New Day vs. Sanity

New Day, Sanity, The Usos, and The Bar are involved in Paige’s announced SmackDown Live Tag Team Tournament, with the winner facing The Bludgeon Brothers for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships at SummerSlam.

At Extreme Rules, Sanity defeated The New Day in a Tables Match, and last week, Sanity helped their leader Eric Young pick up a win over veteran Kofi Kingston. Tonight’s first-round matchup in this exciting tournament will be the second match between the New Day and Sanity, but Sanity is already 2-0 on their foes if you include Young’s victory. So this is a big spot for The New Day.

The Usos are on commentary eating pancakes for this match! It’s lit!

Xavier Woods gets isolated by Alexander Wolfe and Killian Dain, predictably taking big move after big move from the two hosses while Big E anxiously waited for the tag on the apron. These matches are constant reminders of how good of a seller Woods is.

The momentum started to shift when Woods hit a huge dropkick from the top rope on Dain. Once Big E comes in, it’s chaos. Eric Young, who isn’t even in the match, tries to make his presence felt, but Kofi Kingston crotches him to snuff that out. That allows Big E to grab Wolfe, and they hit Up Up Down Down for the win.

But you know who stole the show? Jimmy and Jey on commentary with their hilarious accents making fun of Byron Saxton.

Guess who arrives after the match? The Bar! We did miss them! This is awesome!

Grade: B, another quality match from these two. The Bar returning and The Usos on commentary alone bumped this up to a B.
