Dolph Ziggler (c) vs. Seth Rollins For The Intercontinental Championship

The ShowOff vs. The KingSlayer! These two superstars made history at Extreme Rules 2018 by main eventing the PPV in a 30-minute iron match with the Intercontinental Championship on the line. After losing that bout due to Drew McIntyre’s abrupt distraction, Rollins temporarily changed his mindset to the Universal Title. However, he lost the #1 contender’s triple threat match on Raw and shifted his focus and attention back to the title that he made prestigious.

Since Rollins pinned Dolph Ziggler in a tag match on Raw, he earned another title shot against him at SummerSlam. His heart still lives for the IC title, and he would do anything to get it back. However, I do not foresee that happening. Although Rollins needs a consolation prize for consistently losing to Ziggler, Dolph needs to show the world that he has started a brand new chapter since joining the Raw roster.

He needs to show the world that he is capable of winning consistently and having longer title reigns. Thus, he should retain the IC title to solidify his new beginning and reigning dominance with his psychopath, Drew McIntyre. In fact, it would be even more worthwhile if Dolph Ziggler were to beat Seth Rollins at SummerSlam without Drew McIntyre’s help.

Seth Rollins, on the other hand, had a tremendous run with the IC Title, but he needs to pursue something new on the Raw brand, such as a program with the possibly returning Dean Ambrose, before his obsession with the IC title resembles Finn Bálor’s obsession with the Universal title.

Speaking of Finn Bálor, I foresee him having a first-time feud with Ziggler after SummerSlam for the IC title. Therefore, I’ll predict that Ziggler retains at SummerSlam to avoid another repetitive rematch with Seth Rollins and pursue a new feud with Bálor. Besides, Bálor also needs a fresh feud after he’s done with Constable Baron Corbin, and it’s time for him to win a title again.

Prediction: Dolph Ziggler
