1. Kevin Owens wins the WWE title.

Yes, you read that right. I didn’t say Kevin Owens wins the Universal title. I said Kevin Owens wins the WWE title. The championship proudly defended by AJ Styles on Tuesday nights. The very same title Styles would be putting on the line against Samoa Joe come August 19th. It will be the biggest surprise in recent time, close to Seth Rollins cashing in during the main event of WrestleMania 31.

So how can this happen? In a recent post, I discussed how Owens could be the biggest dark horse heading into SummerSlam this year. All he has to do is get Braun Strowman to lose the match via Count Out or disqualification, and voila! The Money in the Bank briefcase would then belong to Owens. In my post, I discussed how Owens can fool Strowman into believing that he has left the building or even lock the Monster Among Men somewhere to prevent further casualty.

He could then cash-in on the winner of Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar. But even in the best case scenario, odds of Owens walking out with the title are slim to none. A number of things can go wrong. Strowman could make his way to the ring to obliterate Owens once more. Brock Lesnar could snap and take out Owens. Even Roman Reigns can pull off another comeback story. Moreover, even if he does win, both Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman would be waiting to unleash hell on Owens, come Monday night.

But if Owens takes the contract and cashes it in the WWE title match, almost none of this could happen. This could especially be the case if the WWE title match takes place after the Universal title match. Even Strowman would think Owens has clearly left for good. The entire WWE universe would be under the impression that Owens has left. Then as the match between Styles and Joe enters its final stages and both men are taken to their limits, the Prizefighter will make an emphatic return, cash-in his MITB contract and steal the WWE title.

Of course, the contract does not say one has to stick to their own brand to cash it in. This will save Owens from the wrath of Strowman at least until the next Superstar Shakeup. This will also ensure nobody shows up to ruin Roman Reigns’s coronation. Moreover, the fans can’t be upset that Strowman did not cash-in on Reigns. He lost the opportunity thanks to his own mistakes.
