3. Seth Rollins vs Dean Ambrose

After being on the main roster for nearly two years, The Shield had become the hottest act in modern WWE. As a unit, Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, and Seth Rollins had quickly rose to the top of the card and were branded as the future of the industry.

By the summer of 2014, they were hotter than they ever were before in their young careers after winning two back to back pay-per-view matches against Evolution. Things were looking good for the trio, until the night of June 2nd when Seth Rollins stabbed his brothers in the back and joined The Authority.

While Roman Reigns had his sights on the WWE Championship and Randy Orton, Dean Ambrose was anxious to get his hands on Seth Freakin’ Rollins. Fans were excited to see the former Shield mates square off, but were underwhelmed to discover that their first contest would be in a Lumberjack match.

A Lumberjack match isn’t exactly the first match type people think of to settle a blood feud, but somehow, Ambrose and Rollins made it work. It not only made for an exhilarating first chapter in an ongoing feud, but it ended up being–without a shadow of a doubt–the best Lumberjack match in WWE history.
