3: He needs to win a big feud

Samoa Joe has been one of the WWE’s most consistent performers since he made his debut back at the start of 2017. He has quickly established himself as one of the top heels in the company and has put on excellent matches with whoever he has come up against.

Unfortunately for Joe, though, he is yet to come out on top of any big feud he has been in. Joe has only registered two pinfall victories on PPV in his 18 months with the company, one against Sami Zayn, and the other in a five-way number 1 contenders match at Extreme Rules 2017.

Joe has finished on the losing end of big names feuds with both Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar, and while he has not been made to look weak in any of those feuds, it would still be nice of the company to award him with a big win at Hell in a Cell.

Joe and Styles are also set to meet once again at Super Show Down in Australia in October, and for that match to have any reason to exist, then Joe has to pick up the victory at Hell in a Cell. Having Styles beat Joe clean in the middle of the ring effectively rules the Samoan Submission Machine out of the WWE title picture for the foreseeable future, and for the feud to be extended, he has to pick up the victory.

It’s easy to forget, given how new they are to the WWE, that Samoa Joe and AJ Styles are both getting older, and it could be a case of now or never to finally give The Samoan Submission Machine a run with the top prize.
