WWE Evolution: Fantasy-Booking Match Card 2.0
The Pre-Show:
It really would be awesome if all the ladies in WWE could be on the main card, but when you announce that fifty women will be working the event, there’s got to be a pre-show.
Women’s Battle Royal (feat. Carmella, Natalya, The Riott Squid, Mickie James, Zelina Vega, Dana Brooke, Dakota Kai, Bianca Belair, & more)
It’s only right to kick things off with an unoriginal idea because things can only get better from here. With so many title bouts on the card, a battle royal is an easy solution to fitting everyone on the show. Having run a Royal Rumble and a big over-the-top-rope battle at Wrestlemania 34, it’s hard for there to be a lot of surprises. This match could serve as a great way to showcase the women who have played a role in making the division what it is today. Michelle McCool and any other former Divas confronting Carmella would make for some fun, and it’d be neat to see Zelina Vega have some time to shine. The door would be open for Ruby Riott or a new face from NXT to win this one.
Lana & Naomi vs. Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville
With the Women’s Divisions on both brands being a little crowded, WWE Evolution will provide some midcard females an opportunity to show their stuff. Naomi never really got a reward for winning at Wrestlemania 34, so for now, her prize is not being in another battle royale. A few months ago on Smackdown Live, the cast of Netflix’s GLOW encouraged Lana and Naomi to set aside their differences and instead work as a team. Creative should heed the advice of the Emmy nominated comedy series cast and pair up this dancing duo.
The former Absolution members debuted on Raw back in November, and are really starting to hit their stride. While they’ve mostly been paying their dues and putting over other talents, they make the most of those opportunities and are improving with each performance. A win here for the former Tough Enough contestants would be huge, but what’s important here is that they put together a good match.
NXT UK Women’s Championship Match – Champion vs. Nikki Cross
NXT UK did just recently crown a new champion at the latest tapings in Birmingham. Much like the MYC, the results of that are off limits here. It’s safe to assume that the ladies that fell short in the title tournament won’t be in line for a shot. Instead, the challenger could still very well be a little, crazy lady who doesn’t yet appear like she’s part of the new brand. Hailing from Scotland, Nikki Cross is due for a main roster call up any day now. But in the meantime, why not give her a proper send-off where she can help pass the torch to the anchor of NXT’s Women’s Division.
