Seth Rollins

This one basically writes itself. Seth Rollins has been the WWE MVP for 2018; carrying many shows and segments throughout much of the year. When the Intercontinental Championship was the main championship on WWE due to Brock Lesnar’s absence, Rollins proved that he can carry the load, often times looking like someone that should have the Universal Championshop on his shoulder.

While the WWE dropped the ball on that note, they did well in giving him ample in ring time and he delivered with many great matches. If he can put on strong matches with the likes of Jinder Mahal and Mojo Rawley, just think what Rollins can do standing opposite of Rey Mysterio.

The segue into this dream match is rather easy; the IC title weekly challenges. Constable Baron Corbin can even get involved by mandating that Rollins defend the title in a surprise challenge, keeping that story line going. The surprise challenger would be none other than a returning Mysterio. This doesn’t mean that Mysterio would come back as a heel, but simply a way to get him back into the ring with a big match. Plus, with Corbin involved, this match doesn’t have to end in a clean finish – keeping both men looking strong when things are said and done.

In the ring, Rey Mysterio and Seth Rollins would be a perfect pair. Rollins has the abilities and showmanship to match all of Mysterio’s high-flying abilities, while having the power to deliver big moves when needed. Mysterio’s move set is unlike anyone that has faced Rollins in his time on the WWE roster, which creates new opportunities for exciting spots to keep the fans cheering.

There’s a saying in combat sports that “styles make fights”, and a potential pairing of Seth Rollins versus Rey Mysterio would be an exciting entry into the conversation to show that the same applies to professional wrestling.
