Mia Yim On Signing With NXT

WWE fans knew that Mia Yim would be Performance Center-bound after appearing at the Mae Young Classic for the second straight year. She was a standout at the first MYC, and she was just as good in this year’s tournament, producing an exciting bout against Toni Storm in a nail-biting loss in the quarterfinals.

After the match, the crowd pleaded for Triple H to sign Yim, and Triple H gave the crowd an indication that he would make it happen. When the show went off air, WWE posted videos of Triple H and Yim embracing after he offered her a contract to NXT, and she also cut a promo about what this all means to her.

Yim was fighting back tears as Cathy Kelley brought up the “Sign Mia!” chants, and when she spoke, she couldn’t hold back any longer.

Of course, Mia had to joke that she can “Finally ruin Shelton’s [Benjamin] life forever.”

It’s moments like this that remind you how awesome wrestling can be, because Yim has wrestled for years to get an opportunity to shine at the highest level. She’s the latest star in women’s wrestling to sign with WWE, and the move has certainly been a long time coming.
