1. Jeff Cobb

Cobb is a relative newcomer to the New Japan scene, having competed in the World Tag League  in 2017, and he also wrestled Hiroki Goto at “Strong Style Evolved” for the NEVER Openweight Championship. So the name appeal might not necessarily be there, but he is on an absolute tear in 2018.

Cobb signed with Ring Of Honor in late July and defeated Punishment Martinez to win the ROH Television Title on September 29th in his first match with the company. In addition, he won Pro Wrestling Guerilla’s  “Battle Of Los Angeles” tournament this September and was a finalist the year before, losing to WWE NXT Superstar Ricochet in the finale. Cobb has scored wins over Christopher Daniels and LIJ member EVIL on a recent ROH tour. He is a thunderous presence in the ring, unleashing suplexes, power slams and fury upon each of his opponents in the ring.

Why not continue to ride this momentum into Wrestle Kingdom? Cobb will be in Japan the next few weeks for “The World Tag League”, where he surely will impress the Japanese audience. You could have Cody run in on one of Cobb’s last tag matches to make his presence known. Seeing a Cody vs. Cobb contest at Wrestle Kingdom would be quite a delight for wrestling fans worldwide.
