2. Juice Robinson

Remember this guy? Where has Juice Robinson gone? Cody defeated him for the title, and Robinson has been relegated to the lower portion of the card ever since. Juice has been displaying incredible charisma on the microphone and in the ring with New Japan over the last year. The focus recently in NJPW has been on the Kazuchika Okada-Jay White feud, Kenny Omega-Tanahashi and Naito wanting revenge on Chris Jericho, which relegates Juice as an afterthought.

A rematch clause can be invoked by New Japan rather easily. Cody has only been involved in one New Japan match since winning the title a month and a half ago. Robinson has not forgotten his loss to Cody, and I’m sure it’s eating at him every day, especially since Cody won their initial New Japan contest at Wrestle Kingdom 11 back in January of 2017. The revenge factor will be in play and could make this match more captivating their prior two contests.

There already is a built-in history between the two men, and a win for Robinson over Cody would arguably catapult his career further than his first United States Championship victory did. If Juice fails again, we can be sure of three outcomes in life: death, taxes and Cody defeats Juice.
