NXT Takeover War Games 2: Results, Review, and Analysis

On this episode of “Heels With Face Theme Songs”, Johnny Gargano is out in the ring, this time as Punisher, pretty much the ultimate anti-hero of the Marvel Universe in my humble opinion.
Aleister Black, not to be outdone in the costume department, comes out with a nice new vest, this one adorned with horns.
The two stand tensely in opposite corners. This one is surprised; this of any match I’d assume would have a quick beginning, with Black coming right out and attacking Johnny.
Aleister is cerebral though, and only strikes after Gargano strikes first. Black’s strikes are quick and heavy, until Johnny finally gets in some offense.
Black’s strikes can simply not be stopped though, and Johnny finds the only way to get Black down is to fight fire with fire, and he lands a stiff kick of his own.
It’s a strike match, a tried-and-true, honest-to-God strikefest. Both of these men are in incredible shape, and this match is so phonetically choreographed that it’s amazing.
Aleister Black lands a bridging German suplex for a near fall, and this is feeling like the climax of the match. Johnny’s slow to get up, but he lands the Gargano Escape in the middle of the ring. Black shifts momentum and gets Johnny’s shoulders down, but no pin.
Johnny sends Black laughing face-first into the middle turnbuckle. He’s again slow to approach, but he lifts Black’s head with his foot. Aleister stops Johnny with only a hand, and gets in his taunting sitting position and demands Johnny hit him. He misses, and the two, exhausted, begin another strike session in the middle of the ring.
Gargabo sends Black launching out of the ring, and as Johnny does to dive, Black lands a stiff knee directly to Gargano’s chin.
When the two are back in the ring, Johnny begins groveling, and he’s begging Black finish him off. It’s a trick though, and Johnny turns a Black Mass into a pin, but Black powers out. Johnny hits the Gargano Escape again, but Aleister breaks. Black hits a spinning knee to Johnny’s head, and then he lands a step-up knee.
Black lands the Black Mass, and Johnny is holding himself up by leaning on Black’s chest. Black hits another Black Mass, and he gets the win.
