10. Midnight Hour (New Day)

First up, a pair of honorable mentions: New Day’s best buds of late, The Usos, make use of a double splash finisher that’s pretty awesome, and it killed me to leave them off the list. But in the grand scheme of things, a double splash, while awesome, isn’t exactly ground-breaking, so Jimmy and Jey lose a few points for originality.

The other honorable mention? The reigning SmackDown Tag Team Champions, The Bar, and their assisted White Noise. And the reason I bring that up here is because, honestly, Midnight Hour is pretty much the same type of maneuver.

There’s nothing wrong with “assisted” moves, since a lot of times that’s how a tag team works together. A two-man suplex, or a double-team powerbomb isn’t necessarily the most devastating move, but the extra manpower adds a little more damage.

So take New Day, with Big E hoisting an opponent onto his shoulders for the Big Ending, and either Kofi Kingston or Xavier Woods leaping from the top rope for a little extra oomph onto the already powerful move. It’s a great move, with the assist helping it seem even more harmful to the poor sap on E’s shoulder.

As for Cesaro and Sheamus? The White Noise plus assist may have leapfrogged Midnight Hour if it had a cool name. Maybe “Last Call,” keeping with The Bar theme?
