2. Drew McIntyre Needs To Be A Solo Act
A rising star on Monday nights over the past several months has been Drew McIntyre. Not only has McIntyre been a rising star, but he might be the single biggest rising star on the red brand that has serious main event potential in the future.
The Scottish Psychopath has been knocking heel promos out of the park lately with his menacing words. He has been impressive in the ring as well, especially with what he did to Kurt Angle a few weeks ago. McIntyre is close to becoming a world champion-caliber superstar on Monday nights, but one factor could hold him back.
Over the past few weeks, McIntyre has been aligned with acting GM Baron Corbin and Bobby Lashley. The heelish trio has made an impact in that timeframe, but the bigger picture might be that this group is holding back McIntyre. It just doesn’t seem like he needs to be involved in this makeshift group, much like the other recent group that saw him with Braun Strowman and Dolph Ziggler for a while.
McIntyre needs to be a solo act, there’s no other way around it. Maybe this group isn’t actually a team, but regardless, McIntyre doesn’t need to be with anyone at this point. He is a strong enough heel on his own to where he doesn’t need any group, especially at this point after months on the red brand.
It’s time for The Scottish Psychopath to break out on his own and become the top heel that the red brand needs.
