WWE: Ranking The Upcoming NXT Call-Ups By Expected 2019 Impact
4. Lacey Evans
An interesting character who polarized the NXT audience with her talk of “cleaning up” the Women’s Division, Lacey Evans has plenty of upside as a character on the main roster. NXT’s backstage officials always seemed high on Evans, whose “Women’s Right” finisher comes from out of nowhere and is one of WWE’s most protected moves right now.
Evans has consistently upgraded her in-ring work over the past year-and-change, having first emerged as a standout at the first ever Mae Young Classic. Her character immediately stood out, and while it was a more benign version of her current heel character, signs of its potential were self-evident at the time.
We’ve seen Evans produce quality matches with some of NXT’s biggest stars, as her battles with Kairi Sane featured some particularly impressive chemistry. Evans could seamlessly fit as a strong heel on either the Raw or SmackDown roster, and she seems like the type of wrestler Vince McMahon would quickly book to win matches, imposing herself as a threat against established babyfaces, hopefully without overshadowing them.
In 2019, Evans is a woman to watch, even if she won’t have the immediate success that the three men and women above her on this list will enjoy.
