WWE: Ranking The Upcoming NXT Call-Ups By Expected 2019 Impact
3. Lars Sullivan
Though he only made his NXT TakeOver debut one year ago at the first WarGames against Kassius Ohno, Lars Sullivan will already find himself on the WWE main roster. It’s clear that WWE is extremely high on the 6’3″, 330-pounder, who has earned nicknames like “The Leviathan” and the “Humongous Hominid” from Mauro Ranallo and other WWE announcers.
It isn’t difficult to make the case for Sullivan to compete on either Raw or SmackDown. The latter show could use someone as physically imposing as Sullivan, whereas a three-hour Raw could benefit from another monster, with Sullivan perhaps eventually serving as a foil for Braun Strowman (a man he’s often compared to).
Sullivan boasts several uncanny moves, including a diving headbutt, and it will be interesting to see how much that aspect of his wrestling ability is showcased on the main roster. While he isn’t nearly the finished product as a wrestler, with the finish to his otherwise quality NXT Championship match against Aleister Black serving as an example, Sullivan is on the fast track to the top of the WWE main roster.
A title win for Sullivan isn’t out of the question in 2019, though WWE would be best-served to take the slow approach with him, which is the usual course of action for call-ups (even the big men).
