Impact Wrestling Slammiversary 2019 comes to Dallas, TX with a packed card, but who is most likely to walk out of the night with a win?

Impact Wrestling Slammiversary is right around the corner, and I am more than happy to say that I will be live in attendance for the event. As a longtime Impact Wrestling fan, I’m thrilled to finally attend a PPV, especially one of the big two in company history.

This year’s event returns to a Slammiversary hotspot, Dallas, Texas, this time occurring in Gilley’s. The card must follow a PPV of The Year candidate last year and an overall great series of events since Don Callis took over Impact Wrestling in early 2018.

Even being surrounded by high-quality competition, this card looks like it will stand out as one of the top offerings the company can produce. With some strong female involvement, a legend making his PPV return, some wild flashy bouts, and a hoss fight of a main event, I can’t help but be excited to be right in the middle of Slammiversary XVII.

Impact Tag Team Championship Three-Way Match: The North (c) vs. LAX vs. The Rascalz

The originally planned match for Impact Wrestling Slammiversary was LAX defending their titles against The Rascalz. LAX, led by Konnan, has continued to run through the tag team division, holding the titles for 70% of their tenure in Impact Wrestling.

The Rascalz looked to put an end to their reign, getting their first taste of gold in Impact Wrestling thus far. Tensions were high, as Konnan had felt insulted by the trio’s antics, including their uninvited invasion of LAX’s clubhouse.

Things broke down into a brawl, and this feud has only gotten more personal. The Rascalz have also had their moments on top, scoring pinfalls on Santana and Ortiz left and right.

The Rascalz looked like the underdogs and were my pick to walk out with the win, but everything changed last night. The North upset LAX to capture the Impact Tag Team Titles at Bash at the Brewery. Now we’ve got a three-way for Slammiversary, and I fully expect the new champions to keep their titles on Sunday.

Prediction: The North

First Blood Match: Eddie Edwards vs. Killer Kross

Killer Kross expressed his fascination in Kenny long ago, once stealing the named kendo stick from Eddie Edwards. They went back and forth over the inanimate object, before Kross locked Eddie up in handcuffs, forcing him to watch the death of his prized possession when Kross split Kenny in half.

This shockingly heartbreaking moment was only the beginning as Eddie was gifted a new best friend shortly after. The Sandman presented Eddie with a new kendo stick, billed as Kenny 2.0.

While Kross has not destroyed this incarnation of Kenny, he did go as far as waterboarding the ECW legend. Eddie got his revenge, beating Kross to a bloody pulp and cannibalistically biting his rival. His wife, Alisha was more mortified than ever, which is quite the accomplishment given their history.

Following this, Kross found Eddie in a Boston church, ready to confess his sins. This revealed Eddie’s boundaries as he walked out of the church, hesitant to brawl in a sacred location.

At Slammiversary, we will find out who’s boundaries are deeper as the two will face off in a First Blood match. Eddie will likely pick up the win here, painting Kross the color red, courtesy of Kenny 2.0.

Prediction: Eddie Edwards

Grudge Match: Moose vs. Rob Van Dam

Rob Van Dam made his triumphant return to Impact Wrestling at the expense of Ethan Page and Josh Alexander of The North. Aligned with the Canadian tag team was former Impact World Title contender Moose.

The NFL veteran was repeatedly embarrassed by RVD and other ECW legends, placing the blame on Page and Alexander. After dumping The North, Moose set out on a mission to prove himself against The Whole F’n Show. Moose has ensured his revenge by taking out RVD’s longtime friend, Tommy Dreamer.

At Slammiversary, we get the match that we never knew we wanted when former Impact and ECW World Champ, Rob Van Dam returns to PPV against Moose. RVD will get the win here, setting him up for a potential title match-up in the future. The match will be some good fun and Moose will look like a million bucks.

Prediction: Rob Van Dam

Impact Knockouts Championship Four-Way Monster’s Ball Match: Taya Valkyrie (c) vs. Rosemary vs. Jessicka Havok vs. Su Yung

Taya Valkyrie got wrapped up in the wrong feud as she has been caught side by side with Rosemary in a demonic battle against James Mitchell and his two Knockouts, Su Yung and Jessicka Havok.

Rosemary has feuded with Su Yung for over a year at this point in a true roller coaster of a storyline. As Havok joined Su, Taya was put on notice, causing her to offer Rosemary a title opportunity in exchange for protection from the terrifying opposition.

Her hands have been tied behind her back as the dark characters have settled on carrying this feud out into a Monster’s Ball match for Taya’s Knockouts Title. Things will certainly get brutal at Slammiversary, with Rosemary being crowned the new champion, and the Dallas crowd loving every bit of it.

Prediction: Rosemary

Impact X-Division Championship Match: Rich Swann (c) vs. Johnny Impact

The X-Division Championship is one of the most inconsistent titles in wrestling history. It’s been featured from the lowest tier belt to the top accomplishment in Impact Wrestling, with Rich Swann’s reign being closer to the latter.

Swann has elevated the belt to an upper card level with a long run as the holder, stealing the show at every opportunity he has been given. Swann has only gone up since joining the company, now feuding with the most recent World Champ, Johnny Impact.

The Mayor of Slamtown was awarded an X-Division Title opportunity at United We Stand when he retrieved the prize in Ultimate X. These two have a chance to steal the show on July 7th, with Swann’s fantastic reign coming to an end.

Prediction: Johnny Impact

Intergender Match: Sami Callihan vs. Tessa Blanchard

Sami Callihan has built a reputation of being involved in the hottest storylines on Impact Wrestling PPV’s. July 7th will be no different when he continues his war on the Knockouts against Tessa Blanchard. Scarlett Bordeaux initiated the rivalry, with Tessa Blanchard standing up for The Smokeshow and all the other women in the locker room.

Callihan expressed interest in treating the women equally. His demonstrations of this have been nothing but sinister, attacking Blanchard with a baseball bat and spiking her with a Cactus Special. He has vowed to make Tessa bleed at Slammiversary, but the third generation star is determined to prove that she can lock it up with the best, man or woman.

Tessa continues to gain steam in the industry, with a win here possibly setting her up for a big clash with another male competitor at Bound For Glory. This will be the match of the night and be an absolute thrill to watch.

Prediction: Tessa Blanchard

Impact World Championship Match: Brian Cage (c) vs. Michael Elgin

More from Impact Wrestling

Impact Wrestling’s last PPV offering featured the debut of Michael Elgin, following Brian Cage’s title win. Elgin would send Cage to the hospital, putting the champ on the shelf for weeks. Ever since Cage made his return, he has come after his challenger with no restraint.

Big Mike recently tried to put his opponent away once more with four powerbombs including one through a table on the outside. Don Callis would then threaten the former IWGP Intercontinental Champion, who responded by attacking him.

After teasing an Elgin Bomb to the boss, The Machine rose up, ripping his neck brace off and going to war with Unbreakable, Michael Elgin. This one is a clear product of Don Callis, proved by his love for ’90s All Japan.

This will be a battle between two true heavyweights, delivering stiff shots to each other until there is one man standing. With this being Cage’s first defense, I can’t see him losing here. Brian Cage will retain in what could be an absolutely phenomenal match.

Prediction: Brian Cage
