IIconics, one of the most entertaining women’s tag teams in WWE history, are not yet booked for a match at SummerSlam. The following will predict three possible opponents for the longest reigning Women’s Tag Team Champions at the biggest event of the summer.

Since winning the Women’s Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania 35, The IIconic’s tag title reign has been quite uneventful. However, they have recently been contested by quite a few women’s tag teams.

Due to the injuries of Ruby Riott and Nia Jax, the women’s tag team division has been running thin lately. Nonetheless, new tag teams have formed and new rivalries have emerged.

Considering that The IIconics have not defended their championships on PPV since winning them at WrestleMania 35, they are bound to defend it on a “big four” PPV like SummerSlam.

The women’s tag team division is in need of serious revitalization, and a women’s tag team championship match at SummerSlam is absolutely necessary. It is very likely that The IIconics will drop the women’s tag team championships to another deserving women’s tag team at the biggest event of the summer.

Without further ado, let’s predict three possible tag team opponents for the iconic duo at SummerSlam.

3.) Kabuki Warriors

Asuka and Kairi Sane have been awaiting their women’s tag team championship match against The IIconics for a very long period of time. They finally got their title shot on SmackDown Live two weeks ago, and they won the match.

However, they won via countout and not by pinfall or submission, thereby allowing IIconics to retain the championships due to champion’s advantage. Their manager, Paige, asked management for an eventual rematch, which could take place at SummerSlam.

A women’s tag team championship victory would hopefully help revive Asuka’s momentum since losing the SmackDown Women’s Championship to Charlotte Flair and propel Kairi Sane to stardom since getting called up from NXT. Sadly, that won’t sit well with Paige’s former Absolution proteges.

2.) Fire and Desire

When Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville are not selling donuts in their own donut shop, they are backstage planning to take names in the women’s tag team division.

Sadly, they were not involved in the women’s tag team championship at WrestleMania 35, which featured Sasha Banks and Bayley (c) vs. Nia Jax and Tamina vs. IIconics vs. Beth Phoenix and Natalya.

Now, they have been involved in relevant storylines, especially with Ember Moon in the past few months. Their feud with Moon involved bullying her in various manners.

Most weeks on SmackDown Live, they interrupted Moon’s book reading time to showcase Mandy Rose’s muscle and fitness magazine cover. It is clear that they were not on the same ‘page.’ They even went to the lengths of interrupting Moon’s gaming time by breaking her Nintendo Switch.

Eventually, Moon got her revenge against Rose and Deville and moved on to her big championship feud with SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley. Meanwhile, Rose and Deville moved on to get themselves a women’s tag team championship shot if they defeated The IIconics.

Last week on SmackDown Live, that match was scheduled to happen, but Billie Kay sadly got ‘puppy fever.’ Despite the many excuses IIconics make to avoid matches with the current women’s tag teams, Rose and Deville are bound to be included in the women’s tag team championship match at SummerSlam and celebrate with donuts if they win. However, it’s very difficult to have donuts without coffee.

1.) Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross

Albeit Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross have not interacted with the IIconics lately, they were penciled in for a women’s tag team championship match on Raw two months ago. Unfortunately, they lost the match; to add insult to injury, Billie Kay caused Bliss to fall in her own coffee and ruin her pants.

Since neither Bliss nor Cross is involved in any matches at SummerSlam, they would very well join the women’s tag team championship picture once again. There are signs of this happening since they earned a big tag team win on SmackDown Live against Bayley and Ember Moon.

Many WWE fans questioned the booking decision to have number one contender Ember Moon get pinned by Alexa Bliss when she should be looking strong on her road to her title match with Bayley at SummerSlam. Albeit it was a questionable decision, this could have been a way to promote Bliss and Cross as a viable tag team for the Women’s Tag Team Championship picture.

If they do get another championship match against The IIconics at SummerSlam, they will most likely defeat The IIconics to add something fresh to the women’s tag team division. Thanks to 50:50 booking, this is bound to occur.

A women’s tag team championship victory would hopefully help revive Bliss’ momentum since losing the Raw Women’s Championship to Ronda Rousey at last year’s SummerSlam and propel Nikki Cross to stardom since getting called up from NXT.

Rest assured, they’ll celebrate with coffee if they win because coffee is a language in itself. If they lose, a bad day with coffee is better than a good day without it. As for Alexa Bliss’ ruined pants, let’s hope she gets a new one and gives Billie Kay the long-awaited receipt at SummerSlam.
