Shinsuke Nakamura (c) vs. Aleister Black (IC Championship)

Usually, the challenger would chase the champion. If the challenger is impressive, won a #1 contender’s match, or defeated the champion in a non-title match, the champion would acquiesce to have a championship match at the next PPV.

However, this may not be the case if Aleister Black were to get a championship match against Nakamura at Clash of Champions, since Black invites superstars to knock on his door and challenge him.

Nakamura did announce that he is looking for new challengers, and Black could be his match.

Black, a SmackDown superstar, has already defeated two Raw superstars since coming to the main roster. It is time for him to face a SmackDown superstar, and a big title match is exactly what he needs to establish himself as a top star on the main roster.

If this match were to occur, Black would dethrone Nakamura to become the new Intercontinental Champion. Nakamura is merely a transitional champion since Balor had to take a break from the WWE, and Black needs to continue winning until someone extremely challenging “knocks on his door.”

Prediction: Aleister Black

AJ Styles (c) vs. Braun Strowman (United States Championship)

When AJ Styles battled Seth Rollins on Monday Night Raw last week, the match ended inconclusively due to an interference by Gallows and Anderson. Ricochet and Braun Strowman then ran into the ring to save Rollins and even out the playing field.

Styles was angry about this, and decided to put his title on the line against Strowman on Raw. Since Ricochet lost to AJ Styles three times and was announced to be in the King of the Ring Tournament, Strowman could very well be next in line to battle AJ Styles for the United States Championship.

Expect the announced title match on Raw to also end inconclusively and possibly turn into a 6-man tag, because this PPV-worthy title match is bound to take place at Clash of Champions.

If this match occurs, Strowman should win because he’s a monster who needs his first singles championship on the main roster to be considered a legitimate threat.

Prediction: Braun Strowman
