3. Cedric Alexander Defeats Sami Zayn

Surprisingly, Cedric Alexander, a former Cruiserweight champion and 24/7 champion, has earned some well-deserved TV time and gained some key momentum on Raw each week in his short-term feud with Drew McIntyre.

His incredible agility and athleticism in the ring have expedited the pace of his matches, aided his fan support, and helped produced show-stealing matches that are crucial for the King of the Ring Tournament.

Unfortunately, his opponent, the title-less Sami Zayn, is a lost cause in the WWE now, especially after losing in very quick matches to: (1) Rey Mysterio in a United States Championship #1 Contender’s gauntlet match on Raw two weeks before Summerslam, (2) Aleister Black in a match on the go-home show of SmackDown Live before SummerSlam, and (3) Samoa Joe in a grudge match on Raw.

All hopes for a Sami Zayn push are assuredly gone, which is quite upsetting when considering his illustrious efforts in the ring as well as his distinguished finesse on the mic.

With Zayn’s stock dropping drastically in the eyes of the common viewer, Cedric Alexander should be a safe pick to advance in the King of the Ring Tournament.

Now that the babyface competition in the King of the Ring Tournament is taken care of, it’s now time to analyze some ‘real competition.’
