Truly Building Up A WrestleMania Program

Brock is doing something unprecedented by not only entering the Royal Rumble (as champion), but being arrogant enough to do so with the No. 1 spot – a position most superstars would rather not hold. If he doesn’t score the WWE Royal Rumble 2020 win, this does not affect his championship in the least; however, if he wins, he re-establishes the dominance as the Alpha on the roster.

Let’s face it, Lesnar lost a bit of that credibility in 2019 when Seth Rollins was not only able to beat The Beast Incarnate once, but twice.

Heading on the Road to WrestleMania, giving Lesnar the nod as a Royal Rumble winner – and requesting the No. 1 spot – will further elevate him to that once “unstoppable” persona he once held.

After all, while he did make quick work of Kofi Kingston (I still cringe writing that), he was knocked off more than a couple of pedestals, thanks to his WM and SummerSlam losses.

So, where am I going with this? Whoever the WWE powers that be decided to put him up against, whether that be Cain Velasquez again or someone else, they’ll have a huge underdog road ahead of them; thus, their WM win being that much sweeter and leaving fans with that good feeling on a Sunday morning that a cocky meathead has finally lost.

It could very well be the ultimate David and Goliath story in the making, and if that’s the case, kudos to WWE Creative for paving the road for this, so early on.
