Randy Orton vs. AJ Styles [Grudge Match]

Randy Orton and AJ Styles reignited their WrestleMania 35 rivalry once they screwed each other out of the United States Championship picture. AJ Styles screwed Orton by costing him the number one contender’s spot for the championship and Orton screwed Styles by costing him the United States Championship to Rey Mysterio last month.

Looking back at their track record, Styles defeated Orton at WrestleMania 35 and Orton defeated Styles on the December 16 episode of Monday Night Raw. In order to settle the score, they were scheduled for a match on Raw this week but Drew McIntyre stalled their trilogy completion when he inserted himself into a triple threat match with them and defeated them by delivering a Claymore to Orton and pinning Styles after he got RKO’d.

Although this was a well booked momentum boost for McIntyre on the road to WWE Royal Rumble 2020, it was also an excellent way to stall a third grudge match between Styles and Orton. This trilogy should end at WWE Royal Rumble 2020 before they participate in the Men’s Royal Rumble match.

Both superstars have stolen each other’s moves, like move thieves in the WWE 2k video games. It will be exciting to see them do the same in their eventual match at the PPV, and AJ Styles should win this match to finally get his revenge for Orton not only costing him the United States Championship to Rey Mysterio last month but also faking a career-ending injury to prank him with an RKO two weeks ago on Raw.

Prediction: AJ Styles

Roman Reigns (w/Usos) vs. King Corbin (w/RooDolph) [Grudge Match]

Dog Food? Jail Birds? Wellness Policy? The rivalry between Roman Reigns and King Corbin is loaded with controversial content but it has gone over as one of the top male rivalries on Friday Night SmackDown, as can be indicated by its weekly main events.

At WWE TLC 2019, King Corbin defeated Roman Reigns because he had nefarious assistance from almost the entire SmackDown locker room. Now that the Usos are back, Roman Reigns finally has the help he needs to fend off any of King Corbin’s cronies.

Like the aforementioned Becky Lynch vs. Asuka Raw Women’s Championship match and the upcoming Bray Wyatt vs. Daniel Bryan Universal Championship match, this grudge match between Reigns and Corbin is official at the WWE Royal Rumble 2020 PPV. Hopefully, their rivalry ends here so that they can both go their separate ways and focus on their own respective roads to WrestleMania 36.

Considering that he is the number one draft pick to Friday Night SmackDown and the betting favorite for the Men’s Royal Rumble but has not yet defeated King Corbin, he should get his first victory over King Corbin on this PPV to gain some much-needed momentum for the Men’s Royal Rumble match and his road to WrestleMania 36. Defeating the King of the Ring is huge and could help propel Reigns back into the Universal Championship picture where he belongs.

Prediction: Roman Reigns
