WWE Worlds Collide 2020: NXT vs. NXT UK – Official preview and predictions

D.I.Y. (Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano) vs. Moustache Mountain (Tyler Bate and Trent Seven)

This match has even less story than the last match, but it is perhaps the match fans are looking forward to seeing the most. Both teams have become important staples of each show’s respective tag team divisions over the last couple years. Yet, before Worlds Collide, have never faced off.

The two sets of former NXT Tag Team Champions will collide for the first time ever in a marquee match-up. Without being directly linked against each other in a feud or storyline, both teams have taken interesting paths to WrestleMania weekend.

As mentioned earlier, Gargano will be facing Finn Balor at NXT TakeOver: Portland. Meanwhile, Tommaso Ciampa is dead set on picking back up the NXT Championship that he never lost and plans to do so by beating Adam Cole, perhaps in a yet to be booked main event for the Portland show.

Meanwhile, Tyler Bate failed to capture the United Kingdom Championship from WALTER at TakeOver: Cardiff in what many fans considered to be the very best match of 2019. However, he bounced back a couple weekends ago at TakeOver: Blackpool with a win over Jordan Devlin in a match audiences are already hailing as an early MOTY contender for 2020. That same night, Trent Seven lost a match to Eddie Dennis, someone who he is still feuding with.

As all four men are pursuing singles competition, this one is hard to call as neither team plans to carry the momentum of a win into tag team competition. Seeing as both a win and a loss will be inconsequential to any man involved and this is meant to be nothing more than a fun dream match fulfillment, I’m going to take a shot in the dark and say D.I.Y. win this one.
