Awesome Kong vs. Nyla Rose

Awesome Kong made her debut at All Elite Wrestling’s first PPV, Double or Nothing, in a four way match between herself, Nyla Rose, Britt Baker and Kylie Rae. Baker came out as the winner of that match, but the bout was most notable for a staredown between the two powerhouses of the match that could be hinting at a future to come.

Nyla Rose had said in the past how badly she wants a match between herself and Kong and that most certainly is a match that is worth booking. Rose has enjoyed a position as AEW’s top monster heel, but Kong’s previous run in Impact Wrestling essentially set the template for what the modern monster heel within a women’s division should look and act like.

The meeting between two generational beasts would be an epic encounter that fans are already intrigued to see after Double or Nothing. More than just a meeting of the minds, this could work as a passing of the torch that could put The Native Beast on the pedestal she needs to be on in order to truly dominate AEW.

While she’s enjoyed a strong push more recently, her first few months in AEW saw her rack up a few big losses that kept her down a few notches on the totem pole. But a win against a bonafide legend like Awesome Kong could make up for all of the early questionable booking. Add to the fact that Kong would have The Nightmare Collective in her corner and we’re in store for a chaotic slugfest.
