WWE: 5 matches we want to see in 2020
Bianca Belair vs. Charlotte Flair
Many fans expect Charlotte Flair to challenge NXT Champion Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 36 after winning the Royal Rumble, so it would be another case of The Queen using a major victory to put over another wrestler. (Check her feuds with Bayley, Becky Lynch, and Carmella as examples.)
But what if Ripley loses the NXT Championship at TakeOver: Portland? It’s highly unlikely, given the magnitude of her title win over Shayna Baszler in December, but it’s not out of the question either.
In that case, Charlotte would challenge Bianca Belair for the NXT Title at WrestleMania, setting in motion a dream match that was teased during the Rumble when Charlotte entered the match after Belair made her record-breaking eighth elimination.
Even if Belair vs. Charlotte isn’t on the cards for WrestleMania, we’d love to see that match at some point in 2020. Remember, The Queen called Belair “the future” of the company.
Edge vs. Seth Rollins
Edge returned at the Royal Rumble for one of the most emotional moments we’ve ever seen in WWE, and fans have been shouting their dream matches for the Rated R Superstar. Randy Orton looks like Edge’s first opponent, and the two should have a fun match at WrestleMania with even better promos in the build.
But fans have a few other feuds higher on their list than Orton vs. Edge. Andrade, for example, could be a great rising star for Edge to face.
How about Seth Rollins? As a sniveling heel aligned with The Authority, Rollins essentially tried to kill Edge after The Authority lost at Survivor Series. John Cena literally saved Edge’s neck, but paid the price of bringing back the dreaded Authority.
Rollins is back to his old ways, as Buddy Murphy and the Authors of Pain are by his side in the Raw main event scene. Edge getting some old-fashioned revenge on Rollins would be sweet to see.
