1. Ricochet vs. Seth Rollins vs. Bobby Lashley

In what may come as a surprise to no one, the main event was the best match of the night.

Granted, it’s been awhile since the main event was the best … anything of the night on Raw. After all, the past few weeks, the show was main evented by some match or segment variation of the much maligned Lana/Lashley/Rusev/Liv storyline, but the match tonight more than made up for lost times.

The main event pitted Ricochet against Seth Rollins against Bobby Lashley with the winner facing Brock Lesnar for his WWE Championship at Saudi Arabian Blood Mone– *cough* excuse me. Slip of the tongue there. I meant Super Showdown. Don’t ask me how you can get a slip of the tongue while typing, but it’s contagious.

Anyway, this felt like an old school TNA X-Division Triple Threat match to me. Think Samoa Joe vs. AJ Styles vs. Christopher Daniels from 2005. Everyone working at a lightning fast pace (perhaps to keep up with Ricochet), one body flying after another leading to a big spot.

This didn’t feel like the traditional WWE style Triple Threat that starts off essentially as a Handicap Match, then descends into madness. From the start, this was every man for himself (even with the brief interference from Authors of Pain, Erik and Kevin Owens) and was all the better for it.

Ricochet ended up winning and truthfully, even while the nature of the special event it’s hosted under has its fair share of problematic problems, Ricochet vs. Brock Lesnar could be exciting.
