WWE Raw Predictions: Becky Lynch Bites Back On Shayna Baszler

2.) Seth’s Sermon Sucks
Does anyone remember the ‘This is Your Life’ segment between The Rock and Mick Foley and even more recently between Alexa Bliss and Bayley? Although these are segments no one wants to remember, Seth Rollins’ first ever sermon on this week’s Raw could experience the same fate.
If anyone is familiar with the Sermon on the Mount, it is a collection of sayings and moral teachings by Jesus Christ found in the Gospel of Matthew. These teachings include the Beatitudes, the Lord’s Prayer, and the central tenets of Christian discipleship.
If Seth Rollins‘ first ever sermon on the fate of Monday Night Raw resembles this sermon, he could be up a creek without a paddle. Knowingly, there have been superstars in the past (*cough* CM Punk) who were Christ-like figures to obtain heel heat.
However, Punk fulfilled his role in a very responsible manner by calling himself the Second City Saint and actually preaching moral lessons, such as encouraging the fans to refrain from certain evils, such as drugs, alcohol, and smoking. He was the voice of the voiceless and rightfully so.
On the other hand, Rollins has gone a bit too far by calling himself the Monday Night Messiah and selling merchandise with his face on a stained glass background, which is an image one would usually associate with church, especially in the transfiguration scene. His upcoming sermon should be carefully booked because religious blasphemy is not something Rollins wants on his resume nor does the WWE want on their program.
Last week on WWE Raw, Team Rollins defeated Team Owens in an eight man tag team match. It will be interesting to see if this sermon gets interrupted and this rivalry is extended to WWE Super ShowDown 2020 at the end of this month.
