Chris Jericho and Jon Moxley

On the final Dynamite before Revolution, AEW World Champion Chris Jericho and the number one contender to his championship, Jon Moxley, participated in a weigh-in as part of their final pitch for their highly-anticipated match at the upcoming pay-per-view.

From Jericho’s entrance with his Inner Circle stablemates to the company dusting off legendary WCW ring announcer Gary Michael Cappetta, AEW went out of its way to make this feel like a momentous event and thanks to those bells and whistles combined with the champion and challenger’s obvious chemistry, it worked.

Like just about every other match and segment involving these two, the beauty was in its simplicity; Moxley played the no-nonsense babyface role well — he moved through the weighting process with little difficulty — while Jericho was his usual aggravating self as he used some old-school heel stalling tactics when it was his turn to step onto the scale.

Tensions eventually escalated when Moxley headbutted Jericho — busting him open in the process — and initiated a brawl that drew out Dustin Rhodes and Darby Allin shortly thereafter.

But it was Jericho’s turn to get the upper hand on Moxley this week, as he nailed his archrival with the Judas Effect and dropped him with Moxley’s own Paradigm Shift DDT onto the scale. Was this the hottest angle of the feud? Probably not, but it accomplished what it needed to for the fans who are deliberating whether to order this show on Feb. 29.
