WWE Raw Predictions: Kevin Owens Finds A New Tag Partner
By Mark Justice
1.) Kevin Owens Finds A New Tag Partner
Since Samoa Joe is reportedly suspended and could miss WrestleMania, Kevin Owens needs to find a new tag team partner to help him fend off against Seth Rollins and Buddy Murphy for the Raw Tag Team Championships. Evidently, the mystery tag team partner must be a babyface, so the most plausible options on the red brand are: (1) Ricochet, (2) Aleister Black, (3) Cedric Alexander, (4) Rey Mysterio, and (5) Big Show.
Considering that Ricochet received a shellacking in his WWE Championship match against Brock Lesnar at WWE Super ShowDown 2020, it makes no sense for him to insert himself in the WWE Championship rivalry with Lesnar and McIntyre on the road to WWE WrestleMania 36. His pursuit for a second United States Championship reign also squandered once he lost to the current United States Champion Andrade a couple of times in the last few months.
Due to his lack of direction on the road to WrestleMania, the only championship left for him to pursue on the red brand would be the Raw Tag Team Championships. Beside, he could be the superhero Owens needs to rescue him from his continuous losses to Rollins’ faction on WWE Raw.
Although he is known for walking alone, Aleister Black had a long rivalry with Buddy Murphy on WWE Raw and he would thereby be a sensible tag team partner for Owens. However, the likelihood of him being the tag partner is slim since he is now involved in a program with Styles.
Cedric Alexander also had a memorable rivalry with Buddy Murphy back in 205 Live for the Cruiserweight Championship. Being Owens’ tag team partner could do wonders for his career since he has been in a slump as of late with minimal TV time.
Rey Mysterio was involved in helping Owens fend off Rollins and his pack of dogs when he handed him a steel pipe in the backstage area, so he would also be a sensible tag team partner. However, the likelihood of him being the mystery tag partner is slim since he is now involved in a program with Andrade, Humberto Carillo, and Angel Garza.
Finally, Big Show makes the most sense since he teamed up with Samoa Joe and Kevin Owens for the first ever fist fight against Seth Rollins and AOP last month on WWE Raw. Hopefully, he does not turn his back on Owens, like he has done to his many tag team partners in the past.
Hopefully, Kevin Owens finds a new tag team partner.
