Jake Hager vs. Lance Archer

In the first of three non-title grudge matches I’m predicting for AEW Double or Nothing 2020 is nothing short of a hoss fight. Jake Hager, despite being nothing more than a glorified bodyguard for much of his early tenure, has been a dominant competitor in AEW. Even in his very few matches, Hager had an impressive victory over Dustin Rhodes at Revolution and knocked off QT Marshall in short order on Dynamite this week.

However, he’s about to come to a crushing realization: everybody dies. Lance Archer is coming to All Elite Wrestling, and he’s going to be looking to take on the biggest and the baddest. The violent Texan has seen a career resurgence during his recent tenure with NJPW, and he’s finally getting to take his talents back to the US. Hager might seem unstoppable now, but that’ll all end at Double or Nothing.

On top of that, the tale of the tape is just too intriguing here to pass up. Jake Hager towers at 6′ 7” tall, and while he was once billed at 275 lbs, he was down to a lean 239 lbs during his MMA tenure. He’s probably closer to 245 or 250 at this point. Meanwhile, Lance Archer will somehow have both the height and weight edge, clocking in at 6′ 8” tall and a robust 265 lbs that he’s proven he knows how to use in NJPW.

Prediction: Lance Archer wins and Jake Hager, like everybody, dies
