AEW Double or Nothing 2020: Early match card predictions
AEW Television Championship 4-Way Dance: Darby Allin (c) vs. Orange Cassidy vs. PAC vs. Sammy Guevara
Look, I might just be trying to will this one into existence. Speak it into the universe, and all that jazz. One of the early criticism of AEW from many fans was the lack of an established mid-card. Almost every competent singles wrestler, even the younger ones, seemed to be in the World Championship picture. The only problem with that is that only one person (generally) gets to challenge for the AEW World Championship at a time.
However, the benefit of time and good work put into their mid-tier stars has allowed AEW to establish and get over several wrestlers that don’t necessarily need to be in the main event picture right now. The timing is perfect for them to introduce a secondary championship, and it’s my pick that they revive the Television Championship. Whether it follows the “must always be defended on television” rule that versions of the title have once held or not, it seems only right that we crown the inaugural champion on Dynamite.
For this match to take shape, I’m predicting Darby Allin to come out on top between now and Double or Nothing as the first-ever AEW Television Champion. From there, competition will be chomping at the bit to get a chance to take the title from him, leading Darby Allin and his fearless attitude to propose this contest. Four of AEW’s most impressive competitors in a chaotic 4-Way Dance with the AEW Television Championship on the line. I’m still picking Darby to leave as champion, but the real winners here would be the fans getting to see this match.
Prediction: Darby Allin almost dies, but he ain’t losing the gold ’till he’s under
