Kofi Kingston vs. Daniel Bryan, WrestleMania 35

Another recent classic worth watching on the WWE Network is Kofi Kingston vs. Daniel Bryan at the most recent WrestleMania. There’s no better, feel-good match to get you in the mood for WrestleMania 36, because Kofi’s win was about so much more than the WWE Championship.

So many Black wrestling fans cried tears of joy at seeing a Black man hold the top title in the company. Kingston became the first African-born wrestler to win a world title in WWE, and he did so after creating one of the most memorable WrestleMania journeys in history.

The match itself was a masterpiece. Kingston and Bryan had us all on the edge of our seats, worried that the ultimate feel-good moment wouldn’t come. But Kofi pulled it off, showing the whole world why he is one of the best babyfaces of his era. This was a special match.

CM Punk vs. Jeff Hardy, SummerSlam 2009

CM Punk is working as an analyst on WWE Backstage for FS1, which has led fans to wistfully dream of him returning to the ring. But you know who is back in the ring after returning from an injury? Jeff Hardy, and he’s already eyeing a match with future Universal Champion Roman Reigns.

But before all that, it would be a great idea to watch back Hardy’s memorable 2009 Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match for the World Heavyweight Championship (aka the Big Gold Belt) at the Biggest Party of the Summer.

This match had it all, and it was the pinnacle of Punk and Hardy’s memorable feud. We saw a superplex on the ladder, chair shots galore, a jaw-dropping Swanton Bomb off the ladder onto the broadcast table, and a nail-biting finish. Oh, and The Undertaker showed up.
