WWE Money In The Bank 2020 will take place on May 10 at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT live on the WWE Network with the kickoff show beginning at 6 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT. The following will predict the winners for the Men’s and Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Matches.
Money in the Bank! This PPV is statistically proven to make or break a superstar’s career, and the precariousness of this PPV is paramount. However, the real question on everyone’s mind is: Who will win for the Men’s and Women’s MITB Ladder Matches?
There are six total contestants for the Men’s and Women’s MITB Ladder Matches this year. However, there’s a twist: For the first time ever, this PPV will feature those six superstars climbing the ‘corporate’ ladder in the WWE Headquarters to retrieve the Money in the Bank Briefcase.
For the Men’s MITB Ladder Match, the following will participate: (1) Aleister Black, (2) AJ Styles, (3) Rey Mysterio, (4) Daniel Bryan, (5) King Corbin, and (6) Otis. For the Women’s MITB Ladder Match, the following will participate: (1) Asuka, (2) Shayna Baszler, (3) Nia Jax, (4) Lacey Evans, (5) Dana Brooke, and (6) Carmella.
Per WWE’s official website, the WWE MITB 2020 Match Card is shaping up pretty nicely thus far:
"Men’s MITB Ladder Match Aleister Black vs. AJ Styles vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Daniel Bryan vs. King Corbin vs. Otis WWE Championship Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Seth Rollins Universal Championship Braun Strowman (c) vs. Bray Wyatt SmackDown Women’s Championship Bayley (c) vs. Tamina SmackDown Tag Team Championships The New Day (c) vs. Dirt Sheet vs. Lucha House Party vs. Forgotten Sons Women’s MITB Ladder Match Asuka vs. Shayna Baszler vs. Nia Jax vs. Dana Brooke vs. Lacey Evans vs. Carmella"
Now that we have covered who will be participating in both the Men’s and Women’s MITB Matches this year, let’s predict who will win those MITB Ladder Matches.
Asuka vs. Nia Jax vs. Shayna Baszler vs. Lacey Evans vs. Dana Brooke vs. Carmella [Women’s MITB Ladder Match]
‘Opera non verba.’ This Latin translates to ‘deeds, not words.’ Shayna Baszler will let her actions speak for themselves at WWE MITB 2020 as she remains the current betting favorite to win this year’s Women’s MITB Ladder Match. Instead of getting a championship rematch against Becky Lynch, she has been breaking everyone’s arm on a weekly basis and will most likely decimate all 5 women’s arms in the MITB Ladder Match as well.
After failing to win the Royal Rumble and failing to capture the Raw Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 36, Shayna Baszler’s track record at big 5 PPVs has been growing sour. She needs to win the MITB contract to redeem herself from those losses and maintain her dominance, which is essential to her long-term character development.
Let’s not forget that Baszler is a big deal in pro wrestling and one of the greatest NXT Women’s Champions in history. Let’s not forget that this illustrious cage fighter defeated both SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley and Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch in the same night on WWE Survivor Series 2019 to put NXT on the map as a main roster brand.
Her arm-breaking gimmick is a foreshadowing of things to come for the arm-breaker herself, Becky Lynch. Winning the MITB Contract should lead to her first Raw Women’s Championship on the main roster and hopefully a lengthy reign thereafter.
Prediction: Shayna Baszler
Aleister Black vs. AJ Styles vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Daniel Bryan vs. King Corbin vs. Otis [Men’s MITB Ladder Match]
‘Carpe Diem.’ This Latin translates to ‘seize the day.’ AJ Styles certainly seized the day after making a phenomenal return to WWE Monday Night Raw to win an epic gauntlet match that guaranteed him the final spot in the Men’s MITB Ladder Match.
Although it was unfortunate that Apollo Crews was replaced in the Men’s MITB Ladder Match, AJ Styles is a big star who just made the MITB Ladder Match more marketable. Before, the WWE Universe did not see any of the superstars being ideal MITB holders but AJ Styles changed those perspectives in a heartbeat.
Thanks to his most recent momentum, AJ Styles is now the ultimate betting favorite to win this year’s MITB Ladder Match.
Now that Styles is the new Deadman, he has the power to dig holes and take souls, which is very possible to do in a MITB Ladder Match at WWE’s Headquarters. As he said on last week’s Raw, it should be a piece of cake by now, especially if he studies the detailed map of the WWE Headquarters before entering the match this Sunday.
Since Undertaker indirectly passed the torch to Styles, Styles should remain in the main event scene after battling The Undertaker in what was a show-stealing Boneyard Match in the main event of WrestleMania: Night 1.
Winning the MITB contract will keep him in contention for main card championships, especially the WWE Championship that he made prestigious on SmackDown.
Prediction: AJ Styles
