WWE Money In The Bank 2020 in the Bank 2020 took place on May 10 at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT live on the WWE Network with the kickoff show beginning at 6 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT. The following will provide some results, highlights, and grades for this PPV.
Money in the Bank! This PPV featured six superstars climbing the ‘corporate’ ladder in the WWE Headquarters to retrieve the Money in the Bank Briefcase, which contains a contract that guarantees them a future championship opportunity.
Despite recent events, this card is stacked enough to sufficiently entertain the WWE Universe and possibly put smiles on their faces. Here are the results, highlights, and grades for WWE Money in the Bank 2020, starting with the kickoff match between Jeff Hardy and Cesaro.

Jeff Hardy vs. Cesaro [Kickoff Match]
Result: Jeff Hardy
Rating: 2.5/5.0 Stars
Grade: C-
Jeff Hardy and Cesaro started this match with some chain wrestling. Cesaro eventually gained early heel control in the match, slowing the pace with some ground-based attacks and power-based maneuvers. His most notable spots involved European Uppercuts, the Abdominal Stretch, suplexes, and various submission holds.
Hardy rallied with a babyface comeback. His most recognizable spots involved the hip toss, the atomic drop, and the basement dropkick. Hardy delivered the Whisper in the Wind and the Twist of Fate for the two-count.
Cesaro rebounded Hardy’s momentum with a Gutrench Suplex from the top rope and plenty of European Uppercuts to Hardy. Hardy rallies back quickly with a Swanton Bomb from the top rope for the pinfall and the victory.
Analysis: This kickoff match was fine. They did what they had to do for a kickoff match that was randomly booked and had no storyline behind it. At least Hardy defeated one member of The Bar before he eventually defeats the other (a.k.a Sheamus). Nonetheless, Hardy’s match with Cesaro should have been on the main show. It was completely asinine to promote Jeff Hardy’s journey as well as WWE did and still relegate his first match back to the kickoff show of a PPV. Hopefully, his spot on the kickoff show won’t hinder his push in the months to come. The WWE Universe needs another world title run with Hardy, so his matches need to be on the main show of PPVs to propel his push to fruition.

The New Day (c) vs. Dirt Sheet vs. Forgotten Sons vs. Lucha House Party [SmackDown Tag Team Championships]
Result: The New Day
Rating: 4.0/5.0 Stars
Grade: B+
Gran Metalik and John Morrison delivered a Spanish Fly to everyone outside the ring to start this match off with red-hot high-flying action. The Forgotten Sons slowed the pace of the match with ground-based attacks to Lucha House Party, whom they defeated on Friday Night SmackDown three weeks ago. Thanks to the slow pace, a hot tag continued to be teased and was delivered with Lince Dorado executing some incredible high-flying maneuvers.
Dorado’s momentum was neutralized once Kingston tagged himself into the match. However, Morrison delivered a Flying Chuck to Kofi Kingston before Kingston could rally in this match. Kingston eventually rallied back with a New Day Drop and tagged in Big E for the Up Up Down Down on Lucha House Party.
Morrison and Miz tossed Kingston off the top rope and tagged themselves into the match. The Miz delivered a Skull Crushing Finale to Gran Metalik and Morrison delivered a Starship Pain to Big E for the two-count, thanks to Forgotten Sons breaking it up.
Lucha House Party tagged themselves in and delivered a moonsault and picture-perfect elbow drop on Big E for the two-count, thanks to Forgotten Sons breaking it up again. Big E tried to rally back but Jaxson Ryker tried to cheat at ringside and got ejected from the match. Kofi Kingston delivered a Trouble of Paradise to Lince Dorado and Big E delivered a Big Ending to Gran Metalik for the pinfall and the retention.
Analysis: This tag team championship match was a fun spot fest. Everyone got their spots and near falls. Kingston and Big E are spectacular tag team champions. The members of Lucha House Party are absolutely underrated. Rifts are being drawn between Morrison and The Miz. And who was the other tag team in this match? It’s quite easy to forget.
That's what @fightbobby does.

Another DOMINANT victory at #MITB. pic.twitter.com/zNMSSlKtyB
R-Truth vs. Bobby Lashley [Grudge Match]
Result: Bobby Lashley
Rating: 2.5/5.0 Stars
Grade: C-
R-Truth and MVP were originally scheduled for this match, but Bobby Lashley came outta nowhere to announce that he replaced MVP. R-Truth slapped Lashley in the face, which got Lashley angry enough to deliver a Spinebuster and Spear for the pinfall and the victory.
Analysis: Bobby Lashley and MVP were a tandem in TNA, so this replacement was convenient. Mere domination by Lashley here. Nothing special. Just the inevitable. It is nice to see Lashley win matches in a dominant fashion, as he should. However, it’s long overdue for Lashley to get involved in a meaningful championship rivalry. Hopefully, that is in his future sooner rather than later. Maybe MVP can be his manager again for a solid reboot?

Bayley (c) (w/Sasha Banks) vs. Tamina [SmackDown Women’s Championship]
Result: Bayley
Rating: 3.5/5.0 Stars
Grade: B-
Bayley teased Tamina at the start of the match with some trash talking and slaps in the face. Tamina rallied back with some babyface momentum. As soon as she attempted to finish Bayley with the Super Kick, Bayley made a beautiful counter by catching Tamina’s leg and delivering a Knee Bar Submission Hold.
Bayley tossed water in Tamina’s face. Tamina got mad and retaliated with a Superkick and Samoan Drop. As soon as she was about to defeat Bayley for the three-count, Sasha Banks ran into the ring to distract Tamina. Tamina ran after Banks outside the ring, allowing Bayley ample time to roll Tamina up with a Crucifix Pinfall for the victory and retention.
Analysis: The greatest SmackDown Women’s Champion in WWE history retained the championship again. Good booking and in-ring psychology throughout this whole match. Bayley was being a malignant heel by mocking Tamina and tossing water in her face, which are actions heels should always take to put the babyface over. Tamina looked very strong in defeat, especially since the victory was rightfully nefarious, thanks to Banks’ distraction at ringside.

Braun Strowman (c) vs. Bray Wyatt [Universal Championship]
Result: Braun Strowman
Rating: 3.5/5.0 Stars
Grade: B-
Braun Strowman gained early control in the match with some bulldozing power moves but Wyatt gained back control with a DDT after Husky the Pig distracted Strowman at ringside. Wyatt delivered a clothesline and Senton Bomb for the two-count.
Wyatt delivered a Tornado DDT and Sister Abigail to Strowman for the two-count. Wyatt attempted another Sister Abigail but Strowman countered with a Chokeslam. Strowman was shown outside the ring with the Black Sheep Mask. He walked into the ring and hugged Wyatt, as if he joined the Wyatt Family again.
However, it was all a tease because Strowman squashed the black sheep mask and lifted Wyatt up for the Running PowerSlam to retain the Universal Championship.
Analysis: This match was nicely done and a lot better than expected. The imagery was on point when it came to the storyline. Well done by both superstars in taking their storyline to the next level. The tease of The Fiend returning after the match was a strong sign that this rivalry is far from over. Hopefully, this rivalry is stretched to WWE SummerSlam 2020 because it’s getting really good and worth investing in for now.

Rating: 4.5/5.0 Stars
Grade: A-
Drew McIntyre gained early control in the match with Suplexes and other ground-based attacks. Seth Rollins rallied back with two Suicide Dives and the Sling Blade. He delivered a barrage of knee strikes to McIntyre to prevent him from entering the ring.
Rollins attempted another Suicide Dive but McIntyre delivered a Belly to Belly Suplex to Rollins at the announce table and another two Belly to Belly Suplexes in the ring. McIntyre went to the top rope to deliver a flying clothesline and a kip-up for the Claymore but Rollins dodged it yet still ran into a Spinebuster by McIntyre.
Rollins countered the Future Shock DDT into an Enziguiri and Super Kick for the one-count. Rollins delivered a Frog Splash for the two-count. Rollins attempted the Curb Stomp but McIntyre countered with a Glasglow Kiss. McIntyre went on the top rope but Rollins caught him with the SuperPlex and Falcon’s Arrow for the two-count.

Rollins tied McIntyre in a tree of woe, but McIntyre countered with the Belly to Belly Suplex from the top rope. McIntyre attempts the Claymore but Rollins countered it into a Super Kick and a Curb Stomp for the two-count.
Rollins attempted another Curb Stomp, but McIntyre delivered the Glasglow Kiss. Rollins countered with the Superkick, but McIntyre quickly rallied back with the Claymore for the pinfall and the victory.
Analysis: McIntyre was showing his inner beast in this match with quick kickouts, just like Brock would do. McIntyre is officially the superior Beast Slayer and his WWE Championship reign is shaping up to be as formidable as it can be.

It's time for the #MITB Ladder Matches! pic.twitter.com/ixcUknhiHb
MITB Ladder Match [Free-For-All]
Result: Asuka
Rating: 5.0/5.0 Stars
Grade: A+
Women’s MITB Ladder Match Recap: All the women get in position and Asuka was hiding at a higher position, delivering a flying crossbody over all the women. She went into the elevator to get an easier way to the top of the WWE Headquarters. The rest of the women run up the stairs, especially Shayna Baszler, Carmella, and Lacey Evans.
Baszler and Jax cornered Carmella and Dana Brooke in the MITB conference room, but Brooke slammed the steel chair on Jax and grabbed the MITB Briefcase in the conference room. Stephanie McMahon ran in to tell Brooke that the MITB Briefcase is actually on the roof. Carmella then took the opportunity to smash a painting onto Brooke’s head. Lacey Evans delivered a Women’s Right to Carmella before she could leave the room.
After the food fight, Nia Jax delivered a powerbomb to Carmella through a table and locked eyes with Otis before going her separate way. Nia Jax took the action to the roof and grabbed a ladder to climb. Lacey Evans stopped Nia Jax with the Women’s Right. Asuka stopped Lacey from climbing to set up the ladder for herself, but it was not enough to keep Evans down.
All three women are fighting for the briefcase, but Asuka is the one who prevails over them all as she won the Women’s MITB Ladder Match after kicking Corbin off the ladder…
Men’s MITB Ladder Match Recap: Otis trapped AJ Styles under weights. Rey Mysterio met Brother Love in the bathroom. Otis, Daniel Bryan, King Corbin, and Aleister Black got took the elevator and met with the women on the second floor. Doink the Clown appeared behind the couch after Black and DB leave Otis and Corbin on the ground.
AJ Styles went looking for Rey Mysterio but find a room haunted by The Undertaker, which Aleister Black kicked Styles into. Cameras shifted to Paul Heyman eating a ton load of food and all the superstars ran in to do a food fight after Otis slammed food in Heyman’s face. Otis went to the cafeteria to get more food and slammed a pie in John Laurinaitis’ face. So much for People Power.
Styles and Bryan ended up brawling in Vince McMahon’s office, where there are dinosaur bones as DB had noted on SmackDown. Vince McMahon told Styles and Bryan to get out of his office. Styles and Bryan got out of the office to continue brawling. King Corbin took both Styles and Bryan out with his royal scepter and ran to the roof.
Otis delivered the caterpillar to Corbin. Aleister Black delivered the Black Mass to Otis. Black and Mysterio get to the top of the ladder, but Styles runs in to tip them over. Meanwhile, Corbin tossed Mysterio and Black off the roof of the building. Corbin delivered the End of Days to Daniel Bryan and Styles delivered the Phenomenal Forearm to Otis.
Styles and Corbin are at the top of the ladder. Elias runs in outta nowhere to slam the guitar on Corbin’s back. Styles grabbed the briefcase, but the briefcase dropped out of Styles’ hand and landed in the palms of Otis, who is officially Mr. MITB.
Analysis: This was a deranged demolition derby. That’s all that needs to be said.
