Braun Strowman (c) vs. The Fiend – Universal Championship

Braun Strowman made effective work out of Bray Wyatt last night to retain his Universal Championship, but as Wyatt has made it clear in recent weeks regarding his obsession with his former strongman, this won’t end that easily.

Expect a rematch, but not between the champion and the Firefly Fun House founder. Where Bray Wyatt could not get the job done, The Fiend will pick up the pieces, which will surely make for a tougher task for the champ to fend off, even with those hands.

Bayley vs. Lacey Evans – Streel Cage Match – SmackDown Women’s Championship

Is it a little arbitrary to assume we’ll get a No DQ stipulation for a Backlash match coming a whole month before Extreme Rules, which is supposedly the home where hardcore No DQ match stips go to happen?

Maybe, but for months, Lacey Evans (for better or worse, depending on if you’re a fan or a critic) has been firmly planted in the title picture for months now. Even in the build to Bayley vs. Tamina at Money in the Bank, Evans made her presence known in some way or another, so it’s not hard to imagine her being next in line for a one on one title shot.

Granted, we probably shouldn’t expect a rehash of their title match at Royal Rumble. Instead, we should expect them to up the ante with a stipulation. Why not a Streel Cage match, to keep Bayley’s pal Sasha Banks out the match from interfering?
