Charlotte Flair’s time may be over in NXT already, but The Queen should put some superstars over before exiting. Here are some examples.
Charlotte Flair is now on Raw permanently after losing the NXT Women’s Championship at NXT TakeOver: In Your House to Io Shirai in a triple threat match involving Rhea Ripley. The Queen is no longer on the black and gold brand, but that doesn’t take away the fact that the 12-time women’s champion can still be a valuable addition to NXT.
The daughter of the two time WWE Hall of Fame Ric Flair, Charlotte knows the tricks of the trade and has the attributes to put people over. She ensured that NXT Women’s Championship was the talk of the town and in an attempt to attain it, she took the gold with her on every platform and show.
To some, a quick title loss so soon after winning it at WrestleMania may feel like it will hurt the title, but Io Shirai is a talented superstar who knows how to keep it rolling and we can already expect firecrackers this week on NXT.
While she is on Raw, it would be fitting if she came over to NXT just a few more times to fight off some superstars and put them over. Here, I list my ideal picks for your reading pleasure:
Xia Li
It may be a shocking pick to some, but Xia is one of the most talented superstars we have on the show. A match between her and the former NXT Women’s Champion wouldn’t harm anyone, because it would help Li showcase her skills in a better manner.
Raquel González
At 6’1, Raquel González is at a height that is easily intimidating to her opponents. Which is oddly similar to Charlotte Flair’s 5’10. Also like Charlotte, Gonzalez is a second generation wrestling superstar as her father also wrestled under the ring name ‘Desperado.’
She has made early waves on the black and gold brand beside Dakotai Kai, but needs an opponent to get the desired singles push. While there are a host of superstars that can step up to her, it would be a good idea if she gets the support and the guidance from the former NXT Women’s Champion because a storyline with her will make everything fall in place.
We saw Gonzalez’s skills on the May 27 episode of NXT in a lengthy contest with Shotzi Blackheart – her first competitive one-on-one match since aligning with Kai – and one would have to see what she does in the weeks that follow, including this week’s episode. Before trying her luck against the current champion, a match with former champ Flair would be enough to put her at the top.
As a matter of fact, a match with the champion or with Charlotte Flair hold the same value because The Queen has worked her way up the ranks to become the most decorated female superstar in the history of the company.
Mia Yim
Mia Yim is one of those superstars that has the highest regard in not only NXT but wrestling in general. She is one of the most decorated superstars to work with and has a rich history with Charlotte Flair. She knows how to put a story in place, and the recent one with Candice LeRae is a perfect example of the same.
Mia Yim and Charlotte Flair will be a treat to watch because they are on-mic generals and know what to do between the ropes. They can fly through the air, and also perform moves with precision inside the squared circle.
We saw a brief feud between them earlier this year, but if WWE decided to extend the rivalry between these two great performers at least until Yim gets her own win over Flair would be a win-win for everyone involved.
A feud involving them would be good because Charlotte plays heel to perfection, and Mia Yim as a babyface will work wonders for their characters and careers. It will be a testament to their skills when they try to take down each other in an attempt to secure the pin and the win. The fans will love it.
