Sami Zayn

When discussing wrestlers that have not been used well since their move from NXT, Sami Zayn should be at the top of that list. Zayn was recognized as the lifeblood of NXT during his time in the brand.

His surprise call up announcement by Bret Hart was such a huge surprise that he injured himself during the celebration. The WWE had a consummate babyface in Zayn. Unfortunately, as with many others in that position, the creative team struggled to book him correctly and interest waned.

When Zayn won the Intercontinental title there was surprise then hope that the organization was finally going to do something meaningful with him. The COVID-19 hit and pushed the wrestling industry to a halt.

Zayn made the decision to remain home rather than perform during this time and the organization removed the title from around his waist. While it is hard to see the WWE putting trust in him again with another top-name feud, he should be slotted into a spot to face Styles when the global setting is right for his return.

Not to mention, Sami Zayn has already teased returning to feud with AJ Styles over on Twitter.
